Price Expert Adware

What is Price Expert?
Price Expert is a dubious browser plug-in claiming to enhance the Internet shopping experience by enabling features to supposedly save time and money. At first glance, this extension may seem legitimate, however, it is classed as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
These associations are made due to a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional programs together with the chosen software) used by the developers to distribute Price Expert.
After installation on Internet browsers, Price Expert displays intrusive advertisements that may redirect users to bogus websites, thus causing high-risk adware or malware infections.
In addition, users' Internet browsing activity is continually tracked, since Price Expert collects various information (IP addresses, websites visited, pages viewed, content of the visited pages, etc.) that may include personally identifiable data. Therefore, having this add-on installed on your system can result in serious privacy issues.
Price Expert is similar to other regular adware such as Infonaut, Price Rocket, Price Defend, and Web Protector. None (including Price Expert) provide any value to the user - these adware applications are developed to generate revenue by the display of intrusive ads and sharing data with third parties. You are strongly advised to remove Price Expert from your system.
Recently, rogue apps such as Price Expert were mostly distributed on freeware download websites using small programs called 'download clients' (also called 'installers', download managers', etc.). When users download free software, installation of third-party apps is offered via download clients.
Although these apps are described as '100% legitimate and virus-free', most are categorized as adware or malware infections. To prevent installation of Price Expert, or other similar adware, closely inspect each step of the free software download procedure and ensure that no other applications are included.
Furthermore, install downloaded applications using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' options - this will reveal any third-party software listed for installation and allow you to uncheck them. If you have installed Price Expert, and you observe intrusive ads while surfing the Internet, the following removal guide will help you to eliminate this adware from your system.
