Price Rocket Ads

What is Price Rocket?
Price Rocket is a dubious browser add-on claiming to save time and money by finding the best deals available from online stores. Price Rocket may appear to be a legitimate and useful app for online shoppers, however, be aware that it is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
These associations are made, since the developers distribute Price Rocket via a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'. Bundling allows stealth distribution of third-party apps together with regular software, and therefore, users commonly install Price Rocket inadvertently during download of free software from freeware download websites.
Once installed on Internet browsers, Price Rocket displays intrusive advertisements that often lead to rogue websites, thus putting your computer at risk of infection.
In addition, Price Rocket collects various information regarding Internet browsing. For example: browser type, websites visited, pages viewed, content on these pages, etc. This collected information may include personally identifiable details, and therefore, having Price Rocket installed on your computer can result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
Price Rocket is similar or identical to many other adware-type apps. For example: Befrugal, Key Coupons, Download Keeper, and SalePlus are just some examples from a long list, none of which provide any significant value for the user.
Price Rocket, and other similar apps, are developed to generate revenue by sharing collected data with third parties and delivering intrusive ads. For these reasons, you are strongly advised to eliminate Price Rocket from your system.
Price Rocket is often distributed via small programs (called 'download managers', 'download clients', 'installers', etc.) used by freeware download websites. These programs are employed to monetize download websites' free services and traffic by offering installation of promoted apps together with the chosen software.
These promoted third-party apps are described as legitimate, however, most are categorized as adware or malware. Installation of third-party apps can be prevented by inspecting each step of the free software download procedure and never accepting offers to install additional apps.
Furthermore, installation of downloaded programs should be performed using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' options - this will reveal any third-party apps listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If you have installed Price Rocket, follow the instructions below to eliminate this adware from your system.
