Zippy Zarp Adware
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is Zippy Zarp?
Zippy Zarp is a dubious application developed by SuperWeb LLC. Judging on appearance alone, Zippy Zarp may seem legitimate, however, it is categorized as adware and a potentially unwanted application (PUA).
There are three main reasons for these negative associations: 1) stealth installation without users' consent; 2) tracking of browsing activity, and; 3) display of intrusive advertisements.
As with most adware, Zippy Zarp gathers information relating to browsing activity. Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other collected data usually includes personal details that are shared with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) and misused to generate revenue.
Therefore, the presence of a data-tracking app such as Zippy Zarp might lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. Zippy Zarp is also notorious for display of intrusive advertisements. This application delivers coupons, pop-ups, banners, and other intrusive advertisements.
These are displayed using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content (usually ads) on any site and conceal underlying website content, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience. In addition, intrusive ads often redirect users to malicious websites and execute scripts that download/install malware.
Therefore, even a single accidental click can lead to high-risk computer infections. We strongly recommend that you uninstall this application immediately.

Malware Removal (Windows) | To eliminate possible malware infections, scan your computer with legitimate antivirus software. Our security researchers recommend using Combo Cleaner. |
Zippy Zarp is identical to dozens of other adware-type applications developed by SuperWeb LLC. The list of examples includes (but is not limited to) Dolphin Deals, Coupon Time, Search Adventure, and Mass Sea.
These applications offer different functionality, but all have identical behavior - they deliver advertisements and record sensitive information, thereby diminishing the browsing experience and posing a threat to your privacy and browsing safety. Apps such as Zippy Zarp are designed only to generate revenue for the developers.
Rather than enabling functions promised, these applications cause unwanted redirects and, mentioned, also record data and deploy ads.
How did Zippy Zarp install on my computer?
This adware has an official download website, however, Zippy Zarp often infiltrates systems without permission, since developers proliferate it using intrusive advertisements and the "bundling" method (stealth installation of unwanted applications together with regular software/apps).
Developers hide "bundled" apps within "Custom/Advanced" settings (or other sections) of the download/installation processes. Furthermore, many users often click advertisements and skip download/installation steps. In doing so, they expose their systems to risk of various infections and compromise their privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Lack of knowledge and careless behavior are the main reasons for computer infections. The key to safety is caution. Therefore, pay attention when browsing the internet and downloading/installing software. Intrusive advertisements usually seem legitimate, but they redirect to surveys, gambling, pornography, and other dubious websites.
If you experience these ads, remove all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins. Furthermore, select "Custom/Advanced" settings of the download/installation processes and opt-out of additionally-included programs. You are advised to avoid using third party download/installation tools, since most are monetized using the "bundling" method (developers promote rogue apps).
Download your software from official sources only, using direct download links. If your computer is already infected with Zippy Zarp, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate this adware.
