Coupon Time Adware

What is Coupon Time?
Coupon Time is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) created by SuperWeb LLC. This plug-in claims to improve the Internet browsing experience by enabling features such as coupons, comparison shopping, etc. Although this functionality may seem legitimate and useful, Coupon Time is classed as an adware-type application.
The developers distribute Coupon Time using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' - stealth installation of third-party add-ons or applications together with the chosen software. Following successful infiltration on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, Coupon Time tracks users' Internet browsing activity and delivers intrusive advertisements.
Information recorded by this PUP includes (but is not limited to) IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, website URLs visited, pages viewed, and search queries. This information may be personally identifiable, and therefore, having Coupon Time installed on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or identity theft.
Generated ads (banner, pop-up, interstitial, transitional, full-page, search, etc.) often redirect users to bogus websites containing infectious content, thus exposing your computer to risk of further infections. SuperWeb LLC has released several hundred rogue browser add-ons identical to Coupon Time.
Ski Search, Chart Choosing, Sad Cloud, and Spice Nice are just some examples from many others. No applications developed by this company provide any significant value for the user - their purpose is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive ads and sharing collected data with third parties.
For these reasons, you are strongly advised to eliminate Coupon Time from your system.
At time of research, Coupon Time, and most other adware, was distributed via small programs called 'download managers' on freeware download websites such as softonic.com, soft32.com, download.com, etc. Download managers are used to monetize these websites' free services and traffic by offering installation of third-party apps together with the chosen free software.
These advertised programs are described as legitimate, however, they are mostly categorized as adware or malware. To avoid installation of adware such as Coupon Time, be attentive when downloading free software and never accept installation of additional promoted applications.
Furthermore, downloaded software should be installed using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any bundled apps listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If you have installed Coupon Time, the following removal guidelines will help you to uninstall this PUP from your system.
