What is Next Program?
Developed by SuperWeb LLC, Next Program is a deceptive browser plug-ing/application. This extension claims to significantly improve the web browsing experience by providing a number of 'valuable functions' - "We're passionate about improving web by providing the best tools to enhance the browsing experience, from searching the web to comparing online deals to find the best prices.
We've combined all of our great ideas into the Next Program product suite, a FREE set of tools that work to make your browsing experience... better!" Be aware, however, that Next Program usually installs without users' permission. In addition, this dubious application continually delivers intrusive online advertisements and tracks users' web browsing activity. For this reason, it is classed as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and adware.
Once infiltrated, Next Program collects various data such as unique identifier numbers, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (to determine geo-location), URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other similar information relating to Internet browsing activity.
Many users believe that this data is insignificant, however, it might contain details that reveal users' identities. SuperWeb LLC shares this gathered data with cooperating third parties who often misuse it to generate revenue. This behavior can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
Another downside of Next Program adware is display of intrusive advertisements. This PUP generates interstitial, transitional, full-page, pop-up, banner, coupon, search, and other similar advertisements using a 'virtual layer' - a tool allowing display of third party content on any site.
Third party advertisements conceal underlying website content, thereby diminishing the web browsing experience. In addition, unwanted ads redirect to bogus websites containing infectious content - clicking them can result in further adware or malware infections.
If you continually encounter advertisements generated by Next Program (marked as, for example, 'Brought by Next Program', 'Next Program Deals', 'Ads by Next Program', etc.), uninstall this application immediately.
Next Program Privacy Policy statement regarding data collection:
We only share or sell your non-public personal information with non-affiliated third parties when we believe doing so is permitted by you or authorized by this Privacy Policy. In addition, the Company may share your personal information with our parent, subsidiary or affiliate companies without restriction.
Next Program is not the only PUP developed by SuperWeb LLC. There are hundreds of apps identical to Next program (the only difference is the name). Examples include Innovate Direct, Cash Kitten, Checked List, and Bill Break. SuperWeb LLC prevents detection by anti-spyware/anti-virus suites by releasing identical PUPs under different names.
All claim to provide 'valuable features', however, none deliver and real value. Applications developed by SuperWeb LLC simply collect private data and deliver intrusive online advertisements.
How did Next Program install on my computer?
The developers distribute Next Program using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' - stealth installation of potentially unwanted programs with regular software/apps. Many users do not pay enough attention during the download and installation processes.
Aware of this, developers hide Next Program within the 'Custom/Advanced' download or installation settings. By skipping this section, users expose their systems to risk of various infections and put their privacy at risk.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Be aware that adware-type programs are usually distributed as 'bundles' and, therefore, you should closely analyze the download and installation processes within the 'Custom/Advanced' settings. Carefully follow each step and cancel all third party applications listed for download/installation.
