Great Hub Ads

What is Great Hub?
Developed by SuperWeb LLC, Great Hub is a potentially unwanted program that supposedly improves the Internet browsing experience - "We're passionate about improving web by providing the best tools to enhance the browsing experience, from searching the web to comparing online deals to find the best prices.
We've combined all of our great ideas into the Great Hub product suite, a FREE set of tools that work to make your browsing experience... better!" These false claims can trick users into believing that Great Hub is a legitimate app, however, it is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and adware.
Following successful infiltration without users' consent, Great Hub generates intrusive online advertisements and monitors browsing activity.
Great Hub records website URLs visited, search queries, pages viewed, unique identifier numbers, IP addresses, and other similar information relating to Internet browsing activity. This information might seem insignificant, however, it will contain personally identifiable details.
Research shows that SuperWeb LLC shares this collected data with third parties who misuse personal details to generate revenue. Thus, the presence of an information-tracking app such as Great Hub on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
In addition, Great Hub delivers pop-up, banner, coupon, price comparison, interstitial, transitional, full-page, and other similar advertisements. All are displayed using a 'virtual layer' and, therefore, often overlay visited website content, thereby significantly diminishing the Internet browsing experience.
In addition, these displayed advertisements can lead to malicious websites - clicking them risks further adware or malware infections. We strongly recommend that you uninstall Great Hub immediately.
Great Hub Privacy Policy statement regarding data collection:
We only share or sell your non-public personal information with non-affiliated third parties when we believe doing so is permitted by you or authorized by this Privacy Policy. In addition, the Company may share your personal information with our parent, subsidiary or affiliate companies without restriction.
Great Hub is identical to Facts Right, Customer Promos, Sharp Angle, and hundreds of other PUPs developed by SuperWeb LLC. This company intentionally releases identical applications under different names to prevent detection by anti-virus and anti-spyware suites.
Be aware that promises to enable 'valuable functionality' are merely attempts to give the impression of legitimate software. In fact, apps such as Great Hub are designed only to generate revenue for the developers. Rather than providing any value for users, they generate intrusive advertisements and track Internet browsing activity.
How did Great Hub install on my computer?
Although Great Hub has an official promotion site, many users install this application inadvertently. This is due to deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' - stealth installation of PUPs with regular software. Developers hide rogue software within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings of the download and installation procedures.
Therefore, users who skip this stage often inadvertently install bogus software such as Great Hub. Developers' revenue is dependent on the number of PUPs distributed and, therefore, these installations are never properly disclosed.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Installation of apps such as Great Hub can be prevented by taking two simple steps. Firstly, closely analyze the download and installation processes using 'Custom/Advanced' settings. Secondly, decline all offers to download or install additional software and opt-out of those already included.
