"Morpho voting scam" refers to a website that impersonates the Morpho (morpho.org) platform. The imitator page lures users with a poll, and those who are tricked into attempting to vote – unintentionally expose their digital wallets to a cryptocurrency drainer.

We found this scam on proposais-morpho[.]xyz, but other domains are possible. The fake webpage is a close visual copy of Morpho (morpho.org) – a permissionless DeFi lending platform. It must be stressed that this scam is in no way associated with Morpho or any other existing platform and entities.

The scam site runs a poll on "The Most Flexible Lending Protocol", and when a visitor presses the "Vote Note" button – they are prompted to connect their digital wallet. Doing so executes scripts for the cryptocurrency drainer, which begins siphoning funds from the wallet.

These transactions are automated and may appear innocuous; thus, they can remain unnoticed for a significant amount of time. Drainers may be capable of approximating the value of digital assets to determine which to steal first.

It is pertinent to mention that cryptocurrency transactions cannot be reversed because of their nearly untraceable nature. Therefore, victims of scams like this fake "Morpho Voting" site cannot recover the stolen assets.

Caution is paramount to online safety. Therefore, be wary of sites, ads, and messages making promises that sound too good to be true. Pay attention to URLs and be vigilant when entering them. Do not use websites offering pirated programs/media or other questionable services (e.g., Torrenting, illegal streaming/downloading, etc.), as these webpages typically employ rogue advertising networks.
