Ads by AdBeaver

What is AdBeaver?
AdBeaver is presented as an application allowing users to collect 'AdCoins' (which can supposedly be cashed via PayPal, redeemed as gift vouchers, or donated to a charitable cause) for each advertisement displayed.
On initial inspection, this functionality might appear useful, however, AdBeaver usually infiltrates systems without users’ permission. In addition, it generates intrusive advertisements and monitors browsing activity. For these reasons, it is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and adware.
AdBeaver records IP addresses, websites visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other similar browsing-related data. Many users are unaware that this information might contain personal details. Furthermore, this information is shared with third parties who misuse it to generate revenue - this can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
AdBeaver delivers various intrusive online advertisements (pop-up, coupon, banner, etc.) These are displayed using a ‘virtual layer’ (a tool enabling placement of third party graphical content on any site) and, thus, none originate from users' visited websites.
By overlaying website content, these ads significantly diminish the Internet browsing experience. In addition, some lead to bogus websites containing infectious content - clicking them is risky and may cause further high-risk computer infections. If you are concerned with your privacy and Internet browsing safety, you should uninstall AdBeaver adware immediately.
Adware-type applications have similar characteristics. There are many potentially unwanted programs also falsely claiming to enhance the Internet browsing experience, however, applications such as AdBeaver, Weather Alert, Constant Fun, etc. provide none of the functionality promised.
They generate intrusive online advertisements and continually monitor browsing activity. These apps are designed to generate revenue for the developers and provide no real value users.
How did AdBeaver install on my computer?
This application is often distributed as a 'bundle' with other software and, therefore, many users install it inadvertently. Research shows that many users do not express enough caution when downloading and installing software. For this reason, developers conceal potentially unwanted programs within the 'Custom/Advanced' settings.
By rushing the download and installation processes, users expose their systems to risk of infection. Developers' revenue is dependent on the number of PUPs distributed and, therefore, they rarely disclose installation of bogus software.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Most bundled programs are hidden. Therefore, users must closely analyze each step of the download and installation processes. Bear in mind that additionally-included applications are often malicious and, hence, you should never install them.
