Ads by eDealMan

What is eDealMan?
eDealMan is presented as a legitimate browser add-on that saves time and money while shopping online. According to the developers, eDealMan provides coupons, displays special deals/discounts available on various online stores, and enables comparison shopping and other similar functions.
Initially, this browser extension might seem legitimate, however, due to its rogue behavior (stealth installation, tracking of Internet browsing activity, display of intrusive online advertisements), eDealMan is categorized as adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
After infiltrating the system, eDealMan generates pop-up, banner, coupon, and other similar intrusive advertisements. These ads often appear identical to those generated by regular software/apps and, thus, many users are unaware that they do not originate from their visited websites.
By concealing underlying web content, these advertisements significantly diminish the Internet browsing experience. Furthermore, although most redirect to e-commerce websites (for example, online stores), some can also redirect to malicious websites containing infectious content.
Thus, clicking these ads risks further adware or malware infections. eDealMan gathers various information relating to users' Internet browsing activity (for example, IP addresses, websites visited, pages viewed, search queries, etc.) Some of the recorded information might be personally identifiable and is shared with third parties who can misuse private data to generate revenue.
Thus, having an information-tracking app installed on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. For these reasons, you are strongly advised to uninstall eDealMan immediately.
There are hundreds of potentially unwanted programs that have virtually identical characteristics to eDealMan including, for instance, Shopper-Pro, PriceFountain, and shopper-z. All claim to be legitimate, however, fake promises to provide useful functionality are merely attempts to trick users to install.
Following successful installation, eDealMan, and other similar apps, provide no real value for users. Their purpose is to generate revenue for the developers - they merely generate advertisements and collect personal data.
How did eDealMan install on my computer?
eDealMan is proliferated using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional programs with regular software/apps) and, thus, it usually infiltrates systems without users’ permission.
Many users do not express enough caution when downloading and installing software. For this reason, developers conceal third party software within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings. Users who rush the download/installation processes often inadvertently install rogue programs, and in doing so, expose their systems to risk of further infection and compromise their privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Installation of adware-type programs can be prevented by closely analyzing the download and installation processes. The key to computer safety is caution. Use the 'Custom/Advanced' settings and following each step. There is a high probability that additionally-included software will be bogus and, therefore, it should not be installed.
