Browser App+ v1 shopping Adware

Also Known As: Ads by Browser App v1 shopping
Type: Adware
Damage level: Medium

What is Browser App+ v1 shopping?

Identical to PlusBrowserApps, BrowserPro App, and a number of other applications, Browser App+ v1 shopping claims to help save time and money when shopping online - "A free & friendly browser app.. that helps you save time & money on your online shopping. We'll help you find attractive offers while you browse your favorite store".

On initial inspection, this app may seem legitimate, however, be aware that it often infiltrates systems without users’ permission. In addition, it delivers various intrusive online advertisements and records Internet browsing activity. Thus, Browser App+ v1 shopping is classed as adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP).

Browser App+ v1 shopping adware

Browser App+ v1 shopping generates various types of intrusive online ads including (but not limited to) banner, pop-up, coupon, and price comparison.

These do not originate from visited websites (the developers employ a 'virtual layer', which enables placement of third party graphical content on any web page) and conceal underlying content, thereby significantly diminishing the Internet browsing experience.

Most redirect to e-commerce websites such as online stores, however, users might also be redirected to malicious sites that contain bogus content. Thus, clicking any advertisements generated by Browser App+ v1 shopping PUP can lead to high-risk adware or malware infections.

In addition, this bogus app continually tracks users' Internet browsing activity and collects various related data. Some of this information might be personally identifiable and shared by developers with cooperating third party companies. Sharing of private data can result in serious privacy issues, and for this reason, you are strongly advised to uninstall this adware.

Browser App+ v1 shopping Privacy Policy regarding information tracking:

We may share and/or transfer information including personally identifying information internally within our group of companies as well as with government bodies and law enforcement agencies (where lawfully instructed or required), successors in title to the respective business (i.e. if we become involved in any form of merger or acquisition) and to suppliers we engage to process data on our behalf.

Browser App+ v1 shopping is similar to other adware-type applications such as Astro Find, VAFMusic, and Amigo Browser. Some users may be unaware that all adware gives fake promises to enable useful functionality - this is to trick users to install. Their real purpose is to generate revenue for the developers.

Rather than providing the features promised, applications such as Browser App+ v1 shopping continually generate intrusive online advertisements, and track personal data.

How did Browser App+ v1 shopping install on my computer?

Most users install this application inadvertently, since the developers employ a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' to distribute Browser App+ v1 shopping adware. Bundling is stealth installation of third party applications (that are often hidden within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings) with regular software/apps.

Without expecting potentially unwanted programs to be hidden, users commonly rush the download and installation processes, skipping most/all steps. This behavior often leads to inadvertent installation of rogue apps.

How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?

To prevent installation of adware-type applications, be attentive when downloading and installing software. Select the 'Custom/Advanced' settings, rather than 'Quick/Typical' - this will reveal any third party applications and allow you to cancel them. Bear in mind that bundled software is mostly rogue, and therefore, should never be installed.
