SaveDeals Ads

What is SaveDeals?
SaveDeals is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) claiming to save time and money by delivering coupons and displaying special deals/discounts available on various online stores. Some users may believe that this application is legitimate and useful, however, SaveDeals is categorized as adware.
After infiltrating systems without users' permission, SaveDeals generates a variety of intrusive online advertisements and collects information related to Internet browsing activity.
Although SaveDeals claims to display various offers and deals, it generates deceptive online ads including comparison shopping, coupons, pop-ups, and banners. These advertisements may seem harmless, however, some can redirect to malicious sites. Thus, clicking them can lead to further adware or malware infections.
The displayed advertisements conceal underlying website content, thereby significantly diminishing the Internet browsing experience. This is achieved using a virtual layer, which allows developers to place any graphical content on visited sites.
Information tracking is another consideration - SaveDeals continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity and collects various types of information that might be personally identifiable including IP addresses, URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other collected data.
These details are later shared with third parties, and therefore, having SaveDeals installed on your system might cause various privacy issues or even identity theft. If you are worried about your privacy and Internet browsing safety, uninstall SaveDeals adware immediately.
There are hundreds of PUPs offering identical features, including OpedBrowsrVersion WikiTime, Shoppr, and FunFeedr - as withSaveDeals, seemingly legitimate and providing certain 'useful' features.
Despite this, SaveDeals and other adware-type applications, are designed to generate revenue for developers by displaying advertisements (via the 'Pay Per Click' - PPC - advertising model) and gathering various user/system information (which is later shared with third parties). These PUPs provide no real value for the user.
How did SaveDeals install on my computer?
SaveDeals is often distributed as a 'bundle' with other (usually free) software. Bundling applications is a popular distribution method, since many users do not pay enough attention during the download and installation of software. The developers intentionally conceal rogue apps within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings.
By rushing the download and installation processes and skipping most/all steps, users inadvertently install apps such as SaveDeals, thereby exposing their systems to risk of infection.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Downloaded and install all software with caution. Use the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings and follow each step of these processes. Skipping this section will not enable you to see bundled apps and opt-out. The key to computer safety is caution. Do not rush the download or installation processes.
