What is Travel Output?

Travel Output is a deceptive browser plug-in claiming to enable various functionality that enhances the Internet browsing experience - "We're passionate about improving web by providing the best tools to enhance the browsing experience, from searching the web to comparing online deals to find the best prices. We've combined all of our great ideas into the Travel Output product suite, a FREE set of tools that work to make your browsing experience... better!"

On initial inspection, this browser extension may appear legitimate, however, Travel Output is considered to be adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP). After stealthily infiltrating Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox without users' permission, Travel Output delivers intrusive advertisements and gathers various user/system information.

Travel Output adware

This PUP displays banner, pop-up, interstitial, transitional, full-page, search, and coupons ads. To achieve this, developers of rogue applications employ a virtual layer, which enables placement of third party graphical content on visited websites. These advertisements overlay website content, thereby significantly diminishing the Internet browsing experience.

Furthermore, some redirect to untrusted sites that can be infectious, and this, clicking them might result in high-risk adware or malware infections.

Users' Internet browsing activity is continually monitored, since Travel Output records and stores various information that may be personally identifiable including IP addresses, websites visited, pages viewed, search queries entered into search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.), unique identifier numbers, and other similar details.

This information may seem insignificant, however, some details may be private. Therefore, having Travel Output installed can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. For these reasons, we strongly advise that you uninstall this adware immediately.

Travel Output Privacy Policy statement regarding data collection:

We only share or sell your non-public personal information with non-affiliated third parties when we believe doing so is permitted by you or authorized by this Privacy Policy. In addition, the Company may share your personal information with our parent, subsidiary or affiliate companies without restriction.

The developers of Travel Output (SuperWeb LLC), have released over one hundred PUPs identical to Travel Output including SnapSearch, Super Great, and Gem Grab - these are just some examples.

All claim to be legitimate and useful, however, Travel Output and all other applications developed by this company, provide no useful features for the user. SuperWeb LLC aims to generate as much revenue as possible, and thus, their products merely display advertisements and track personally identifiable data.

How did Travel Output install on my computer?

This bogus add-on is distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional apps with the chosen software/apps), and therefore, it usually infiltrates systems without users' permission. Bundling is effective since many users do not pay enough attention during the download and installation processes.

Unaware that bogus applications such as Travel Output are usually hidden within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options, users often skip this section, thereby exposing their systems to risk of infection or inadvertently installing rogue applications.

How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?

The key to computer safety is caution. Do not rush the download or installation procedures. Follow each step and decline all offers to download/install additional software. These processes should be performed using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options - this will reveal any concealed potentially unwanted programs listed for installation and enable you to cancel them.
