Ads by WunderWeb

What is WunderWeb?
WunderWeb claims to be a legitimate add-on that will enhance the Internet browsing experience by enabling various features such as coupons and comparison shopping. This browser extension may seem genuine and useful, however, WunderWeb is classed as adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
SuperWeb LLC (the company responsible for the development and release of this rogue app) use a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of third party apps together with the chosen software) to install WunderWeb on Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome) without users' permission.
Following infiltration on browsers, WunderWeb generates intrusive online advertisements including banner, interstitial, transitional, full-page, pop-up, and search ads. These advertisements are likely to redirect to bogus websites, and therefore, clicking them exposes your computer to risk of infection.
Another downside of WunderWeb adware is information tracking. This PUP monitors users' Internet browsing activity and records various software and hardware information including Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (to determine users' geo-locations), URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries entered, and unique identifier numbers.
These are just some examples from a long list of information types collected by this rogue app. Some of this data might be personally identifiable, and therefore the presence of WunderWeb on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. SuperWeb LLC is responsible for the release of hundreds of applications that are identical to WunderWeb.
This company intentionally releases identical browser plug-ins under different names (for example, SearchFin, Higher Aurum, and Intense Result) to prevent detection by legitimate anti-spyware and anti-virus software. Although these apps claim to improve the Internet browsing experience, neither WunderWeb, nor any of these other apps provide any real value.
Adware applications are developed to display intrusive ads and share collected data with third parties to generate revenue, and therefore, you are strongly advised to uninstall WunderWeb from your system immediately.
Most popular adware is usually distributed via small programs called 'download managers' on freeware download websites such as soft32.com and downloads.com. Download managers are developed to offer installation of third party apps together with the chosen software to monetize these websites' traffic and free services.
The additional programs are often presented as '100% genuine and virus-free', however, reckless download and installation of freeware frequently causes adware or malware infections. To prevent computer infections, closely observe each step of the free software download process and decline any offers to install additional programs.
Furthermore, all software downloaded from the Internet should be installed using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options - this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If you have installed WunderWeb, follow the instructions below to eliminate this rogue app from your system.
