Dragon Branch Ads

What is Dragon Branch?
Developed by SuperWeb LLC, Dragon Branch is a dubious browser plug-in claiming to enhance the Internet browsing experience by enabling various features such as coupons and comparison shopping. Although some users may find this functionality legitimate and useful, Dragon Branch is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
The main reason for these associations is a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of third party applications together with the chosen software) employed in Dragon Branch distribution.
After installation on Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) without users' consent, Dragon Branch delivers various intrusive online advertisements including banner, pop-up, interstitial, transitional, full-page, and search ads. Some of these ads may redirect to bogus websites, thereby exposing your computer to infection.
As with regular adware, Dragon Branch continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity and records various software and hardware information including, for instance, IP addresses, websites visited, pages viewed, search queries entered into search engines, unique identifier numbers, and so on.
Be aware that some collected data might include personally identifiable details, and therefore, the presence of Dragon Branch adware on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. The developers of this rogue add-on have released several hundred potentially unwanted applications claiming to provide identical features.
Insider Deals, ysearchservice, Shop Time, and Product Deals are just some examples from a long list of applications identical to Dragon Branch.
None, including Dragon Branch, provide any real value for the user - these applications are developed and released by SuperWeb LLC simply to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online ads and sharing collected data with third parties. For this reason, you are strongly advised to uninstall Dragon Branch from your system immediately.
Adware-type applications similar or identical to Dragon Branch are mostly distributed using small programs called 'download managers' on freeware download websites such as softonic.com, soft32.com, download.com, etc.
Download managers (also called 'installers', 'download clients', etc.) are employed to monetize these websites' free services and traffic by offering installation of additional programs together with the chosen software. Although developers present their applications as '100% legitimate and virus-free', they are likely to be adware or malware.
To avoid such infections, be attentive when downloading free software and ensure that no additional programs are included.
Furthermore, downloaded software should be installed using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options - this will reveal any bundled application listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If you have installed Dragon Branch, follow the instructions below to eliminate this adware from your system.
