Ads by Product Deals

What is Product Deals?
Product Deals is an adware-type browser plug-in created by SuperWeb LLC. The developers claim that this add-on is a great tool to enhance the Internet browsing experience by enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and other similar features.
On first glance, some may find this functionality legitimate and useful, however, Product Deals is classed as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) since the developers employ a software marketing method called 'bundling', which allows distribution of their applications together with other software.
Therefore, users often install this adware inadvertently together with software downloaded from freeware download websites. Product Deals infiltrates Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and then displays intrusive online advertisements. Clicking these generated ads might cause further computer infections.
Another important downside of this PUP is information tracking. Product Deals continually monitors and collect various software and hardware information (IP addresses to determine users' geographic locations, search queries entered, website URLs visited, pages viewed, unique identifier numbers, etc.) that may be personally identifiable.
Be aware that this data tracking can result in serious privacy issues or identity theft. The company responsible for development of Product Deals has released several hundred identical rogue extensions including Information Cloud, First Color, Coupons Free, and Magic Ball.
These applications are released under different names to prevent detection by legitimate anti-spyware and anti-virus software.
None (including Product Deals) provide any real value for the user - they are developed to generate revenue by the display of ads and sharing collected data with third parties. Therefore, you should uninstall Product Deals from your Internet browsers immediately.
Close examination of Product Deals reveals that this adware is mostly distributed via small programs called 'download clients' (also called 'installers', 'download managers', etc.) on freeware download websites such as download.com, soft32.com, softonic.com, etc.
Download clients are employed to monetize these websites' free services and traffic by offering installation of additional (according to the developers, '100% legitimate and virus-free') browser extensions together with the chosen software. In some cases, third party applications are concealed under the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options.
Despite these claims, promoted applications are often classed as adware or malware. To avoid installation of infectious software, closely inspect each step of the freeware download process and ensure that no additional apps are included.
In addition, programs downloaded from the Internet should be installed using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options - this will reveal any bundled software listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If you have installed Product Deals, and you observe intrusive ads, read the guide below and uninstall this adware from your system.
