What is My Daily Video?
My Daily Video is an application operated and owned by a company called My Daily Soft. This application claims to enhance the Internet browsing experience by providing various useful features, however, it is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
This dubious application is often bundled with free software applications to infiltrate Internet browsers without users' consent.
My Daily Video infiltrates all Internet browsers installed on the system (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox). As with other regular adware, My Daily Video displays intrusive online advertisements. Clicking these ads usually redirects to bogus websites, and therefore, your computer might become infected.
Furthermore, My Daily Video collects several types of Internet browsing-related information including, for example, IP addresses, websites visited, pages viewed, search queries, etc. Be aware that some of this collected data may be personally identifiable, and therefore, the behavior of this app can lead to serious privacy issues and identity theft.
Many adware applications have similar behavior to My Daily Video. MediaPlayerVid, Shopymate, FlashMall, and Price Expert also claim to provide various useful features, however, none provide any real value for the user.
These apps are developed to generate revenue by the display of ads and sharing collected data with third parties - behavior that may cause various computer safety and privacy-related problems. Therefore, you are strongly advised to eliminate My Daily Video from your system immediately.
Currently, most of adware-type applications (including My Daily Video) are distributed using small programs called 'download clients' (also called 'installers', 'download managers', etc.), which supposedly ease the free software download process.
In fact, download clients are used to monetize freeware download websites' (such as download.com, soft32.com, softonic.com, etc.) free services and traffic by offering installation of third-party apps, or simply by hiding them under the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options.
Most third-party apps are described as legitimate, however, reckless download and installation of freeware risks computer infection with adware or malware. This situation can be avoided by closely analysing each step of free software download procedure and declining all offers to install additional programs.
In addition, downloaded software should be installed using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' options, rather than skipping all steps - this will reveal any concealed applications listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If your computer is infected with My Daily Video, the instructions below will guide you through removal of this PUP from your system.
