Sad Cloud Ads

What is Sad Cloud?
Sad Cloud is a rogue browser plug-in created by SuperWeb LLC. This browser extension claims to enhance the Internet browsing experience by enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and other similar features. Sad Cloud may appear to deliver legitimate and useful functionality, however, it is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) or adware.
This PUP employs a deceptive free software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional programs together with the chosen software), and therefore, users commonly install this adware inadvertently when downloading free software from freeware download websites.
Following infiltration on Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox), Sad Cloud delivers intrusive online advertisements such as coupons, search, transitional, pop-up, interstitial, and full-page ads. These advertisements might redirect you to bogus websites, and therefore, your computer can become infected.
Furthermore, Sad Cloud collects various information regarding users' Internet browsing activity. For example: URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, IP addresses (to determine users' geo-locations), unique identifier numbers, and other recorded data that may include personally identifiable details.
Therefore, having Sad Cloud installed on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or identity theft. The developers of this adware have released over one hundred identical applications. Some examples include Digital More, Fruit Basket, Dollar Dream, and Browse Pulse.
None of these apps are useful to the user - SuperWeb LLC releases them to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online ads and sharing collected data with third parties. You are strongly advised to uninstall Sad Cloud adware from your system immediately.
Applications such as Sad Cloud are commonly distributed via small programs called 'installers' (also called 'download managers', 'download clients', etc.) employed by freeware download websites to offer installation of additional programs together with the chosen software, and thereby monetize their free services and traffic.
Although these promoted applications are described as legitimate, reckless download and installation of freeware risks computer infection with adware or malware. To avoid this situation, closely inspect each step of the free software download process to ensure that no other applications are included.
Furthermore, installation of downloaded software should be performed using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options - this will reveal any hidden apps listed for installation and allow you to decline them.
If you have installed Sad Cloud, and you experience 'Ads by Sad Cloud', 'Sad Cloud Deals', and 'Powered by Sad Cloud' advertisements while surfing the Internet, this removal guide will help you to remove the adware from your system.
