Ads by My Savings

What is My Savings?
The My Savings bogus browser extension installs on Internet browsers using a deceptive free software marketing method called 'bundling'. This add-on claims to save time and money by displaying special deals and discounts available on shopping websites, and by enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and other similar features.
In fact, My Savings provides no significant value for the user and is categorized as adware. Bundling allows developers to distribute their applications together with other software, and therefore, most users inadvertently install My Savings during download of free software from freeware download websites.
After successful installation on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, My Savings generates intrusive advertisements (banner, coupon, search, etc.) that mostly lead to dubious websites and may cause further high-risk adware or malware infections.
Be aware that My Savings collects various software and hardware information such as IP addresses, websites visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other browsing details that may be personally identifiable.
The presence of this rogue application on your system can result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft. For these reasons, you are strongly advised to uninstall My Savings from your system immediately.
My Savings adware is similar to other rogue plug-ins that display ads. For example: ConvertAd, BestPricesApp, MixVideoPlayer, Web United, and PastaLeads among hundreds of others. These applications claim to provide various features, however, they simply display advertisements and share collected data with third parties to generate revenue.
Research shows that My Savings (and other adware) is usually distributed via small programs called 'download clients' used by freeware download websites such as download.com, soft32.com, softonic.com, etc. Download clients are developed to bundle additional applications together with the chosen free software.
Although developers claim that these promoted applications are 'completely legitimate and virus-free', reckless installation risks computer infection with adware or malware. To prevent this, observe each step of the free software download procedure and opt-out of all additional applications included.
Furthermore, select the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options when installing downloaded programs - this will reveal any bundled software listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. Follow the instructions below to eliminate ads by My Savings from your system.
