Premium Download Manager Adware

What is Premium Download Manager?
Owned and operated by DynaSoft LLC, Premium Download Manager is a bogus application presented as a tool to accelerate download speeds by up to five times. This functionality may seem useful, however, Premium Download Manager is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
This dubious application is stealthily distributed together with other software using a deceptive free software marketing method called 'bundling'.
After Premium Download Manager successfully infiltrates browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox), intrusive online advertisements (pop-up/under, transitional, banner, in-text, and in-image) are generated. There is a high probability that clicking these advertisements will cause high-risk adware or malware infections.
Premium Download Manager is also known to track users' Internet browsing activity and collect various software and hardware information including Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, Internet Service Provider, location, browser type (and data such as URLs, pages viewed, search queries, cookies, etc.), operating system, and other details that may be personally identifiable.
Research shows that this type of information tracking has the potential to cause serious privacy issues or even identity theft. There are hundreds of rogue applications similar to Premium Download Manager including, for example, VisualDiscovery, PastaLeads, Web United, and BestPricesApp.
None of these provide any real value for the user. Premium Download Manager is developed as a tool to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online advertisements and sharing collected data with third parties.
Premium Download Manager is mostly distributed via small programs called 'download clients' used by freeware download websites such as download.com, softonic.com, etc. Download clients monetize these websites' traffic and free services by offering installation of additional programs together with the chosen software.
It is claimed that these promoted applications are '100% legitimate and virus-free', however, reckless download and installation of freeware commonly results in adware or malware infections. To avoid installation of Premium Download Manager, closely inspect each step of the freeware download procedure and click 'Decline' if installation of any additional programs is offered.
Furthermore, when installing downloaded software, select the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options - this will reveal any hidden applications listed for installation and allow you to uncheck them. If your computer is infected with Premium Download Manager, the following guidelines will help you to remove this PUP from your system.
