What is NavRight?
NavRight is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) or adware due to a deceptive free software marketing method called 'bundling', which it uses to self-install on Internet browsers without users' consent.
Bundling is a way to infiltrate computer systems during installation of other software, and therefore, most users inadvertently install NavRight when downloading free software from freeware download websites.
Following successful infiltration on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, NavRight generates intrusive advertisements on all websites visited and tracks users' Internet browsing activity.
NavRight generates many types of intrusive online advertisements (including banner, in-text, pop-up, etc.) that may lead to high-risk adware or malware infections.
Be aware that NavRight continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity and collects various software and hardware information (such as URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, cookies, etc.) that may be personally identifiable. This behavior can result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
NavRight is similar to other applications claiming to improve the Internet browsing exprience in various ways.
For example: Com Notification, Wild West, and LolliScan. Adware-type applications such as NavRight are developed to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online advertisements and sharing collected data with third parties - in fact, they provide no significant value for the user.
Today, most adware is distributed via small programs called 'download clients' on freeware download websites such as download.com, softonic.com, soft32.com, and many others. Download clients are used by these websites as traffic and free services monetization tools, since they offer installation of additional programs together with the chosen software.
Although these promoted applications are said to be '100% legitimate and virus-free', reckless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections. To avoid installation of NavRight, or other similar adware, pay close attention to each step of the free software download procedure and opt-out of all other applications listed for installation.
Additionally, software downloaded from the Internet should be installed using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' options - this will reveal all bundled applications and allow you to decline them. If you have installed NavRight, follow this removal guide to eliminate this PUP from your Internet browsers.
