Com Notification Adware

What is Com Notification?
Com Notification is an adware-type application claiming to increase users' computer safety. In fact, it provides none of these features. This application is distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional applications together with other software).
After successful infiltration on Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) without users' consent, Com Notification continually monitors Internet browsing activity and generates unwanted advertisements on all websites visited.
This rogue add-on generates advertisements that usually lead to high-risk adware or malware infections. For example: banner, pop-up, coupon, and other similar ads.
Furthermore, information tracking performed by Com Notification can result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft, since the collected data (for example, IP addresses, website URLs visited, search queries, pages viewed, cookies, etc.) may be personally identifiable.
Com Notification is similar to other adware distributed using the bundling method. Wild West, SearchBetter, and System Notifier are just some examples from many others, none of which provide any significant value for the user.
All potentially unwanted applications such as Com Notification are developed to generate revenue by the display of advertisements and sharing collected data with third parties. For these reasons, you are strongly advised to uninstall Com Notification from your system.
Com Notification and other adware-type applications are mostly distributed via small programs called 'download managers' on freeware download websites such as download.com, softonic.com, etc. Download managers are used to monetize these websites' traffic and free services by offering installation of promoted applications together with the chosen free software.
Although these applications are said to be '100% legitimate and virus-free', reckless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections. This situation can be avoided by inspecting each step of the free software download procedure and clicking 'Decline' against any offers of additional software installation.
Furthermore, if you are installing downloaded software, select the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' options, since this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation and allow you to uncheck them. If your computer is infected with Com Notification, follow the removal instructions provided to eliminate this application from your system.
