Ads by Strong Signal

What is Strong Signal?
Created by SuperWeb LLC, Strong Signal is a dubious application claiming to provide various features such as coupons, comparison shopping, and many others. On initial inspection, this may seem legitimate and useful functionality, however, Strong Signal is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
These associations are made due to a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional programs together with the chosen software) employed by Strong Signal to install on Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) without users' permission.
After successful infiltration, Strong Signal generates various intrusive online advertisements including interstitial, transitional, search, banner, pop-up, and coupon ads. There is a high probability that clicking these ads will cause high-risk adware or malware infections.
In addition, Strong Signal collects various software and hardware information that may be personally identifiable. For example: search queries, website URLs visited, pages viewed, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, unique identifier numbers, and other details. Be aware that this information tracking may result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
Strong Signal is identical to other applications developed by SuperWeb LLC including, for example, LeapSense, Webuii, Zebar, and Internet Program. None of these applications provide users with the features promised. This company releases identical browser add-ons under different names to prevent detection by legitimate anti-spyware and anti-virus suites.
These PUPs are developed to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online ads and sharing collected details with third parties. Therefore, you are strongly advised to uninstall Strong Signal from your system immediately.
Close examination of Strong Signal reveals that it is mostly distributed via small programs called 'download managers' on freeware download websites such as softonic.com, soft32.com, download.com, etc.
Download managers offer installation of advertised (according to the developers, '100% legitimate and virus-free') applications or browser extensions together with the chosen software. Download websites employ them as free services and traffic monetization tools, and therefore, careless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections.
This situation can be avoided by closely inspecting each step of the free software download procedure and clicking 'Decline' if installation of any additional programs is offered.
Furthermore, all software downloaded from the Internet should be installed using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options, rather than 'Typical' or 'Quick' - this will reveal any hidden applications listed for installation and allow you to uncheck them.
If you have installed Strong Signal, and you experience intrusive online ads while browsing the Internet, follow the removal guide provided to eliminate this PUP from your Internet browsers.
