Ads by LeapSense

What is LeapSense?
The browser extension, LeapSense, claims to enhance the Internet browsing experience by enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and other features. LeapSense, however, is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
The developers of this rogue application (SuperWeb LLC) employ a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional software together with the chosen software) to install LeapSense on Internet browsers without users' permission.
Following successful infiltration on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, LeapSense tracks users' Internet browsing activity and displays intrusive online ads.
LeapSense collects various software, hardware, and Internet browsing-related information that may be personally identifiable. This information includes (but is not limited to) Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, full website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries entered into search engines (Yahoo, Google, Bing, etc.), and unique identifier numbers.
This information tracking may lead to serious privacy issues or identity theft. Advertisements generated by this rogue application (banner, pop-up, interstitial, transitional, and search ads) are likely to cause further computer infections. For these reasons, you are strongly advised to eliminate LeapSense from your system.
SuperWeb LLC releases identical browser plug-ins under different names to avoid detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware suites. LeapSense, Webfuii, LuckyTab, Shamanul and many other extensions, provide no significant value for the user - their purpose is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online ads and sharing collected data with third parties.
At time of research, most adware was distributed via small download programs (called 'installers', 'download managers', 'download clients', etc.) used by freeware download websites such as softonic.com, soft32.com, and download.com.
These downloaders are used to monetize these websites' free services and traffic by offering installation of additional (according to the developers, '100% virus-free') applications or browser extensions together with the chosen software. Thus, careless download and installation of freeware risks system infection with adware or malware.
To avoid installation of LeapSense, or other similar adware, closely follow each step of the free software download process and uncheck options to install any additional programs.
Furthermore, installation of potentially unwanted programs can be avoided by selecting the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options when installing downloaded software - this will reveal any concealed applications listed for installation and allow you to decline them.
If you experience 'Ads by LeapSense', 'LeapSense Deals', or 'Powered by LeapSense' advertisements when surfing the Internet, read the removal instructions provided and uninstall this adware from your Internet browsers.
