Clock Hand Ads

What is Clock Hand?
Clock Hand is one of several hundred rogue applications developed by SuperWeb LLC. It claims to improve the Internet browsing experience by enabling comparison shopping, coupons, and other similar functionality. Although Clock Hand may seem to be a legitimate and useful browser add-on, it is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
The developers of this dubious plug-in employ a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' to install Clock Hand on Internet browsers without users' consent.
Bundling is a way to stealthily distribute applications together with other programs, and therefore, most users install Clock Hand inadvertently during download of free software from freeware download websites. After successful infiltration, Clock Hand delivers intrusive online advertisements and records various software and hardware information.
Clock Hand generates banner, coupon, transitional, interstitial, search, and pop-up ads, which may lead to high-risk adware or malware infections. Furthermore, users' Internet browsing activity is continually tracked, since this PUP collects various software and hardware information such as search queries entered into search engines (Bing, Yahoo, Google, etc.), URLs visited, pages viewed, unique identifier numbers, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, and other details that may be personally identifiable.
This information tracking can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. SuperWeb LLC has released many potentially unwanted applications identical to Clock Hand. For example: Round World, Solution Real, and LeapSense. None of these (including Clock Hand) provide any significant value for the user.
This company releases identical applications under different names with the intention of avoiding detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware software.
The purpose of these applications is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online ads and sharing collected information with third parties. For these reasons, you are strongly advised to uninstall Clock Hand from your Internet browsers.
Today, most adware is distributed using small programs called 'download managers' on freeware download websites such as download.com, softonic.com, soft32.com, and many others.
Download managers are employed by the websites as traffic and free services monetization tools, since they offer installation of additional applications or browser extensions together with the chosen software.
Although it is stated that these promoted applications are '100% legitimate and virus-free', reckless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections. To avoid this situation, be attentive during the free software download process and decline all offers to install additional programs.
Furthermore, when installing downloaded software, select the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options - this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation and allow you to opt-out. If your computer is infected with Clock Hand, and you observe intrusive online advertisements such as 'Clock Hand Deals', 'Ads by Clock Hand', and 'Powered by Clock Hand', read the following removal guide and uninstall this potentially unwanted program immediately.
