Secure Web Ads

What is Secure Web?
Created by Big Water Applications LLC, Secure Web is a rogue browser add-on claiming to allow users to monitor visited website activity.
Although this functionality may seem useful and legitimate, be aware that Secure Web is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted application since it employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional programs together with the chosen software) to install on browsers without users' consent.
Following successful infiltration on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, Secure Web tracks users' Internet browsing activity as well as generating intrusive online advertisements.
These intrusive advertisements include banner, pop-up, text-link, interstitial, and in-text ads. It is highly probable that clicking these advertisements will cause high-risk adware or malware infections. Furthermore, this rogue browser plug-in monitors users' Internet browsing activity and collects various information, which may be personally identifiable.
For example: geographic locations, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, unique identifier numbers, operating systems, language settings, browser types, cookies, URLs visited, pages viewed, and other similar details.
This behavior may result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft, and for this reason, you are strongly advised to remove Secure Web adware from your Internet browsers.
Secure Web is similar to other rogue browser extensions (including Disturbicons, Sonic Search, and Theater Mode) claiming to add useful functions to Internet browsers. Neither Secure Web, nor any of these other extensions add any real value for the user - their purpose is to generate income by the display of intrusive online advertisements.
Most users inadvertently install adware such as Secure Web when downloading free software via small programs called 'download managers' on freeware download websites (including download.com, soft32.com, softonic.com, etc.) Download managers are used to monetize these websites' free services by offering installation of promoted browser extensions together with the chosen free software.
Thus, rash download and installation of freeware frequently results in adware or malware infections. This situation can be prevented by closely inspecting each step of the free software download process and never accepting installation of any additional programs offered.
In addition, users who install downloaded software should select the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options - this will reveal any hidden applications listed for installation and allow you to decline them. If you have already installed Secure Web, follow this removal guide to eliminate this adware from your Internet browsers.
