What is Share Anything?
Developed by Long Mile Solutions LLC, the Share Anything rogue browser add-on claims to provide users with a website content sharing function on their Internet browsers.
Although this functionality may seem legitimate, be aware that Share Anything is categorized as a potentially unwanted application or adware since it employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' to install on Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) without users' permission.
Following successful infiltration, Share Anything generates intrusive online advertisements and tracks users' Internet browsing activity.
These intrusive online advertisements includes banner, text-link, pop-up, in-text, and interstitial ads. It is highly probable that clicking these advertisements will cause high-risk adware or malware infections.
In addition, Share Anything continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity by recording various information, which may be personally identifiable such as operating systems, browser types, cookies, URLs visited, pages viewed, IP addresses, geo-locations, and other similar details.
This behavior may result in serious privacy issues or even identity theft, and for this reason, you are strongly advised to eliminate Share Anything adware from your Internet browsers.
Share Anything is similar to other rogue browser add-ons claiming to improve users' Internet browsing experience by adding certain functions (for example, Movie Mode, Mood Tube, and Spy Lookout).
Neither Share Anything, nor any of these other extensions add any real value for the user - their purpose is to generate income by the display of intrusive online advertisements.
Commonly, Internet users inadvertently install adware such as Share Anything together with free software downloaded via 'download managers' on freeware download websites including soft32.com, softonic.com, download.com, amongst many others.
Download managers are used to monetize these websites' free services by offering installation of advertised browser extensions together with the chosen free software. Thus, reckless download and installation of freeware risks computer infection with adware or malware.
To avoid installation of Share Anything or other potentially unwanted applications, pay close attention during the download of free software and never accept installation of any additional programs offered.
If you are installing downloaded software, choose the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any bundled applications and allow you to remove them from the installation list. Internet users who have installed Share Anything adware should follow this removal guide to eliminate it from their Internet browsers.
