Mood Tube Virus

What is Mood Tube?
Mood Tube is a browser extension developed by Mesa Roha Solutions LLC. This browser plug-in claims to enhance users' Internet browsing experience by enabling them to 'switch off lights' when watching videos on the Internet.
Although this functionality may seem legitimate, Internet users should be aware that Mood Tube is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted application. Mood Tube is compatible with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. The extension installs on browsers without users' consent via a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'.
After successful infiltration, Mood Tube tracks users' Internet browsing activity by recording various software information such as operating systems, browser types, URLs visited, search queries entered. It also records hardware information including IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, and other similar information.
Furthermore, Mood Tube generates various intrusive advertisements including in-text, banner, and interstitials. The presence of Mood Tube, or other adware, on your system may lead to serious privacy issues or malware infections.
There are many similar browser extensions (for example Spy Lookout, Tube Dimmer, and Websteroids) claiming to improve users' Internet browsing experience by enabling certain functions.
None, however, add any real value for the user. The actual purpose of these browser add-ons is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online advertisements. For these reasons, you are advised to eliminate Mood Tube from your Internet browser/s.
Users should be aware that the majority of current freeware download websites (such as soft32.com, download.com, softonic.com, and many others) employ 'download managers' to monetize their free services. Download managers are small programs offering installation of advertised, 'legitimate', browser add-ons together with the chosen software.
Reckless download and installation of freeware risks PC infection by adware. To avoid installation of Mood Tube, or other similar adware, pay close attention when downloading freeware and click the 'Decline' button when invited to install any additional applications.
During installation of downloaded software, choose the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any stealth installation of applications along with your chosen software, and you will be able to decline them. Users who have installed Mood Tube should follow this removal guide to eliminate it from their Internet browser/s.
