What is Perk Prize Panel?
Created by Perk, Inc, the Perk Prize Panel browser add-on claims to enhance users' Internet browsing experience by displaying coupon ads when visiting online shopping websites (and displaying alerts when there are relevant coupons and earning opportunities).
While such added functionality may appear legitimate, users should be aware that the Perk Prize Panel plugin is categorized as a potentially unwanted application or adware since installs on browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) together with free software using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'.
This browser extension generates intrusive ads, including coupon ads and savings alerts advertising. Furthermore, Perk Prize Panel tracks users' Internet browsing activity by recording IP addresses, Internet browser information, partners and pages visited, and other software and hardware information.
Whilst this plugin is not technically a virus, its presence on your system can lead to malware infections and privacy issues, and therefore, you are advised to eliminate this adware from your Internet browser/s.
The Perk Prize Panel browser add-on is similar to other adware, which installs on users' Internet browsers without their consent and generates intrusive coupon ads. Examples include Slick Savings, WowCoupon, and HighliteApp.
Today, most free software download websites (including download.com, softonic.com, and many others) employ 'download clients' - small programs offering installation of advertised browser plug-ins, thus, reckless freeware downloading can result in adware infections.
To avoid installation of Perk Prize Panel (or other potentially unwanted programs), be attentive when downloading freeware. If your download is managed by a download client, decline installation of any advertised browser extensions.
When installing downloaded programs, select the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options - this will reveal installation of any bundled applications. Computer users who observe Perk Prize Panel ads whilst surfing the Internet should use this removal guide to eliminate adware from their Internet browser/s.
