QWebber Ads

What is QWebber?
Created by SuperWeb LLC, the QWebber rogue browser extension is compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. This potentially unwanted application claims to improve the quality of users' Internet browsing experience by displaying websites with related content, enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and other similar functions.
Although this may seem a legitimate browser extension, users should be aware that QWebber is categorized as adware. QWebber employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional applications together with the chosen software) to install on Internet browsers without users' consent.
Following successful infiltration, it generates various advertisements such as transitional, interstitial, text link, search, banner, and full page ads.
Furthermore, QWebber continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity by recording various information including URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries entered, IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, and other software and hardware information.
Such behavior may lead to serious privacy issues, identity theft, or malware infections. SuperWeb LLC has released over one hundred rogue browser plug-ins (including Four Finder, Crimsolite, and SwizzleBiz), which are identical to QWebber.
The developers of this potentially unwanted application intentionally release identical add-ons under different names to avoid detection by legitimate anti-spyware and anti-virus programs. None of these plug-ins add any true value - their actual purpose is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online advertisements.
Research shows that most adware is distributed via 'download clients' within freeware download websites (for example, download.com, soft32.com, softonic.com, and many others). Download clients are used to monetize free software download services by offering installation of promoted browser plug-ins together with the chosen software.
Thus, reckless download and installation of freeware risks PC infection with adware or malware. Installation of QWebber, or other rogue browser extensions, can be prevented by closely inspecting each step of the freeware download and installation phases and excluding any additional installations of bundled software.
When installing downloaded software, select the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any bundled applications and you will be able to decline them.
Users who observe "Ads by QWebber", "QWebber Deals", and "Powered by QWebber" when browsing the Internet, should follow this removal guide to eliminate Qwebber adware from their Internet browser/s.
