Four Finders Ads

What is Four Finder?
The Four Finders browser extension claims to improve the quality of users' Internet browsing experience by displaying related content from websites, coupons, enabling comparison shopping, and adding other useful functionality. While Four Finders may seem a legitimate browser extension, Internet users should be aware that it is categorized as adware.
Four Finders was developed by SuperWeb LLC and is optimized for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. The extension uses a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' to stealthily install on Internet browsers during installation of downloaded free software.
Following successful infiltration, Four Finders generates various types of intrusive advertisements including text link, search, banner, transitional, interstitial, and full page ads.
Furthermore, it monitors users' Internet browsing activity by recording various information including IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, URLs visited, search queries, pages viewed, and other software and hardware information. This behavior may lead to serious privacy issues, identity theft, or malware infections.
SuperWeb LLC releases over one hundred rogue browser add-ons identical to Four Finders (for example, Bellaphant, Laflurla, and CocoChaos). This company intentionally releases identical plug-ins under different names to avoid detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware software.
Neither Four Finders, nor any other of these extensions, add any real value for the user. Their main purpose is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online advertisements.
Four Finders commonly infiltrates computers via free software downloads. Today, most free software download websites employ 'download clients' to monetize their free services, thus, it is important to pay close attention to the free software download steps. Reckless download and installation of freeware may result in adware or malware infections.
To prevent installation of Four Finders, or other potentially unwanted applications, observe each step when downloading free software and decline installation of any additional applications offered.
If you are installing downloaded software, choose the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any bundled applications, and you will be able to remove them from the installation list.
Users who have already installed Four Finders and observe "Ads by Four Finders", "Four Finders Deals", and "Powered by Four Finders" when browsing the Internet, should follow this removal guide to eliminate Four Finders adware from their Internet browser/s.
