CocoChaos Ads

What is CocoChaos?
The CocoChaos rogue browser plug-in is developed by SuperWeb LLC and is compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. The plug-in claims to improve users' Internet browsing experience by displaying website trust ratings, enabling coupons and comparison shopping.
Although this potentially unwanted application may seem legitimate, Internet users should be aware that it is categorized as adware. CocoChaos installs on browsers using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'.
Following successful infiltration, the software generates intrusive advertisements including transitional, interstitial, banner, text link, search, and full page ads.
In addition, CocoChaos monitors users' Internet browsing activity by recording various information such as unique identifier numbers, IP addresses, URLs visited, search queries, pages viewed, and other similar hardware and software information.
Having adware such as CocoChaos installed on your computer may lead to high-risk malware infections, privacy issues, or identity theft.
SuperWeb LLC intentionally releases browser extensions identical to CocoChaos (including, for example, SwizzleBiz, Caramava, Laflurla, and Maucampo) under different names to avoid detection by legitimate anti-spyware and anti-virus programs.
None of these browser plugins add any real value for the user - their main purpose is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online advertisements.
Most current freeware download websites employ 'download clients' to monetize their free services. Download clients are small programs offering installation of advertised browser extensions along with the chosen software. Careless download and installation of freeware risks PC infection by adware.
To prevent installation of CocoChaos, or other similar adware, observe each step during the download of free software and click the 'Decline' button when installation of additional applications is offered.
If you are installing downloaded software, choose the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any hidden applications listed for installation along with the chosen software, and you will be able to decline them.
Users who have already installed CocoChaos and observe "Ads by CocoChaos", "Powered by CocoChaos", and "CocoChaos Deals" should follow this removal guide to eliminate the plug-in from their Internet browser/s.
