Bellaphant Ads

What is Bellaphant?
The Bellaphant browser extension claims to improve users' Internet browsing experience by displaying coupons, related website content, enabling comparison shopping, and adding other useful functionality. Although Bellaphant may seem a legitimate browser plugin, users should be aware that it is adware.
The developers of this potentially unwanted application (SuperWeb LLC) optimize it for Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox.
Bellaphant installs on browsers using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional applications together with the chosen software). Following successful infiltration, it generates various types of intrusive advertisements including search, text link, banner, interstitial, transitional, and full page ads.
Furthermore, Bellaphant tracks users' Internet browsing activity by recording diverse software and hardware information such as IP addresses, URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, unique identifier numbers, and other similar information. The presence of Bellaphant on your system may lead to serious privacy issues, identity theft, or malware infections.
SuperWeb LLC has released over one hundred identical browser plug-ins under different names (for example: Caramava, Laflurla, and Fortunitas) to avoid detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware software.
These browser extensions, including Bellaphant, are useless for the user. The purpose of these plugins is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online advertisements.
Commonly, potentially unwanted applications such as Bellaphant install on browsers through free software downloads. Potentially unwanted programs are distributed via 'download managers' within freeware download websites, and most of these (including download.com, soft32.com, softonic.com, and many others) use download managers to monetize their free services.
Download managers are small programs offering installation of promoted browser extensions along with the chosen free software. Careless download and installation of freeware risks PC infection with adware or malware.
To avoid installation of Bellaphant, or other adware, users should inspect each step when downloading free software and decline any offered installation of additional applications.
During installation of downloaded freeware, choose the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options, rather than 'Regular' or 'Quick' - this will reveal any applications intended for stealth installation and you will be able decline them.
Users who observe "Ads by Bellaphant", "Bellaphant Deals", and "Powered by Bellaphant" when browsing the Internet, should follow this removal guide to eliminate adware from their Internet browser/s.
