Caramava Ads

What is Caramava?
Caramava is a potentially unwanted application developed by SuperWeb LLC. This browser plug-in is compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. It claims to enhance users' Internet browsing experience by displaying related content including websites and coupons, and enabling comparison shopping and other useful functionality.
While the Caramava add-on may seem legitimate, users should be aware that it is considered to be adware. The Caramava plugin employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' to install on browsers without users' consent.
Following successful infiltration, this plug-in generates diverse types of intrusive advertisements including text link, banner, search, transitional, interstitial, and full page ads.
Furthermore, the plug-in tracks users' Internet browsing activity by recording various software and hardware information such as URLs visited, search queries, pages viewed, unique identifier numbers, IP addresses, and other information. This behavior may lead to serious privacy issues or malware infections.
The developer of Caramava (SuperWeb LLC) has released over one hundred identical browser plug-ins under different names (for example: Fortunitas, Laflurla, Mokiray, and ZoneTrek) to avoid detection by legitimate anti-spyware and anti-virus suits. In fact, these add-ons, including Caramava, are useless to the Internet user.
The main purpose of these potentially unwanted applications is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online advertisements.
Computer users should be aware that most current freeware download websites employ 'download managers' to monetize their free services. Download managers are small programs offering installation of additional applications along with the chosen free software.
Through careless downloading and installation of freeware, users risk PC infection with adware or malware. To avoid installation of Caramava, or any other similar adware, users should study each step when downloading freeware, declining any offered installation of additional applications such as plugins, toolbars, etc.
During the installation of downloaded software, choose the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Regular' - this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation together with the freeware, and you will be able to decline them.
Users who observe "Deals by Caramava", "Powered by Caramava", and "Ads by Caramava" when browsing the Internet, should follow this removal guide to eliminate Caramava adware from their Internet browser/s.
