Xaven Ads and Deals

What is Xaven?
Xaven is adware created by Super Web LLC and is a potentially unwanted application promoted using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'. Commonly, Internet users install this browser extension without their consent, together with free software downloaded from the Internet.
Whilst developers of this browser plugin state that Xaven enhances users' Internet browsing experience (by displaying website ratings and enabling multi-site search capabilities), in fact, this add-on is categorized as adware since it causes unwanted ads (search, banner, text link, transitional, interstitial, and full page) and tracks users' Internet browsing habits (recording the IP address, unique identifier number, operating system, browser information, URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries entered, etc.)
A clear indication that your Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox) is infiltrated by this potentially unwanted application, are "Powered by Xaven", "Ads by Xaven", and "Xaven Deals" advertisements visible whilst surfing the Internet.
Internet users should be aware that, today, the majority of free software download websites use 'download clients' to monetize their free services, thus not paying close enough attention when downloading freeware can result in installation of Xaven or other adware.
The Xaven browser plugin is identical to other potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) created by Super Web LLC. These browser extensions install together with free software and cause unwanted ads. Previous variants of Xaven include Illoxum and Bomlabio amongst many others.
The company, Super Web LLC, responsible for the aforementioned browser extensions, release identical browser plugins under different names - a strategy to avoid detection by legitimate antivirus and anti-spyware programs. The best way to avoid installation of such adware is to pay close attention to the free software download steps.
If your download is managed by a download client, opt-out of installation of bundled browser add-ons by clicking the 'decline' button.
When installing freeware, choose the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal installation of any bundled browser add-ons. If you observe Xaven advertisements when browsing the Internet, use the removal guide provided to eliminate this adware from your Internet browser/s.
