Bomlabio Ads and Deals
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is Bomlabio?
The Bomlabio browser extension is developed by Super Web LLC and is compatible with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. This plugin claims to enhance users' Internet browsing experience by enabling multi-site search capabilities and displaying website ratings.
Whilst such added functionality may seem legitimate, many Internet users refer to Bomlabio as a virus or malware.
These negative associations are made since this browser extension installs on users' Internet browsers without their consent (together with free software downloaded from the Internet), and furthermore, causes various unwanted ads (search, banner, text link, transitional, interstitial, and full page ads).
This plugin also tracks users' Internet browsing habits, collecting various personal information such as IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, operating systems, browser information, URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries entered, and other software and hardware information.
Technically, Bomlabio is not a virus or malware, however, it is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted application. It diminishes Internet browser performance and can cause serious privacy and computer security issues. Commonly, this browser plugin is distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'.
A clear indication that your Internet browser is infiltrated with this adware are "Powered by Bomlabio", "Ads by Bomlabio", and "Bomlabio Deals" advertisements visible whilst surfing the Internet.
Bomlabio is just one of many potentially unwanted applications developed by Super Web LLC. This company releases identical browser add-ons under different names to avoid detection by legitimate antivirus and anti-spyware programs. Previous variants of this adware are named Fanhoosh, Whilokii, and Lamilov amongst many others.
The best way to avoid installation of such adware is to pay close attention to the download steps of free software. If your download is managed by a 'download client' (today, this is the case with the majority of freeware download websites), decline installation of any advertised browser extensions.
When installing free software, choose the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options - this will reveal installation of any bundled adware. If you observe Bomlabio ads when surfing the Internet, use the removal instructions provided to eliminate this potentially unwanted program from your Internet browser/s.
