Onmylike Virus

What is Onmylike.com?
The Onmylike.com browser hijacker is distributed using free software download websites. This website presents users with a search bar, which can be used to search the Internet. Note that at time of testing, this website redirects users to Google, however, the developers of this browser hijacker are likely to redirect this site to a malicious source at any time.
This may cause computer users to acquire malware or viruses on their operating systems. After successful infiltration, the Onmylike browser hijacker modifies browser shortcut targets (for Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox), and thus, computer users are unable to revert their homepage and default search engine settings to the default options.
While Onmylike is not technically a virus or malware, it is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP). Furthermore, it adds no useful functionality and modifies users' Internet browser settings, resulting in redirect issues.
Note that while this browser hijacker poses no direct security issues, computer users should be aware that it is unsafe to have it installed on their machines. At any given time, developers of this deceptive browser hijacker may change their website, or redirect users to malicious sites. Therefore, you are strongly advised to remove Onmylike from your system.
Onmylike is similar to other browser hijackers distributed using free software downloads, including qvo6, Qone8.com, Delta-homes, and many others. A common source of such browser redirect viruses is free download websites, which use 'download clients' in order to monetize incoming web traffic.
To avoid a program from changing your browser settings, be attentive when downloading free software - closely inspect every download step and decline installation of any additional programs or browser add-ons.
When installing the downloaded freeware, choose the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options - this will reveal any hidden (bundled) browser plug-ins or other adware. If your Internet browser/s redirect you to onmylike.com, use the removal guide provided to eliminate this issue.
