Removing LogicalProduct adware from the operating system
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What kind of application is LogicalProduct?
LogicalProduct is a rogue app discovered by our research team during a routine review of new submissions to the VirusTotal platform. Upon inspection, we determined that LogicalProduct is advertising-supported software (adware). This application is part of the AdLoad malware family.
LogicalProduct adware overview
Adware is designed to feed users with undesirable and potentially harmful advertisements. This third-party graphical content (e.g., pop-ups, overlays, surveys, banners, etc.) can be displayed on visited websites, desktops, or other interfaces.
It is noteworthy that advertising-supported software might not operate as intended if the browser/system or user geolocation is incompatible, specific sites are not visited, or other conditions are unsuitable. However, regardless of whether LogicalProduct delivers ads – this app's presence on a device threatens system safety and user privacy.
Adware-displayed adverts can promote various scams, unreliable/hazardous software, and malware. Some can even be triggered (by being clicked) to execute scripts that perform sneaky downloads/installations.
Note that while legitimate products or services may be encountered via these advertisements – they are unlikely to be endorsed by their actual developers or other official parties. It is most probable that this endorsement is undertaken by scammers motivated to acquire illegitimate commissions by abusing the promoted content's affiliate programs.
AdLoad apps commonly have browser-hijacking capabilities – however, the LogicalProduct application did not exhibit these traits during our analysis.
Furthermore, advertising-supported software usually possesses data-tracking functionalities, and this might apply to LogicalProduct. Information of interest may include: browsing and search engine histories, Internet cookies, usernames/passwords, personally identifiable details, finance-related data, and so on. This sensitive information can be shared with and/or sold to third-parties.
To summarize, the presence of software like LogicalProduct on devices may result in system infections, serious privacy issues, financial losses, and identity theft.

Adware examples
We have written about thousands of adware-type applications; ServerInput, TemplateAnalyzer, OptimalValue, and Cyclostomatous are just a few of our newest articles.
While advertising-supported software usually appears legitimate and useful – it seldom operates as promised. Its functionalities are typically fake since their only purpose is to entice users into downloading/installing.
However, even if a piece of software operates exactly as indicated by its promotional material – that is not irrefutable proof of either legitimacy or safety.
How did LogicalProduct install on my computer?
"Bundling" – packing regular program installers with unwanted/malicious additions – is used to distribute adware. Downloading from freeware and free file-hosting sites, Peer-to-Peer sharing networks, and other suspicious sources – carries the risk of having bundled content infiltrate the system. The threat is further compounded by rushing through installation processes (e.g., ignoring terms, skipping sections, using "Easy/Quick" settings, etc.).
Adware is also promoted on legitimate-looking download pages and scam websites. They are primarily accessed via redirects generated by sites utilizing rogue advertising networks, intrusive adverts, spam browser notifications, misspelled URLs, and installed adware (with the ability to force-open webpages).
Advertising-supported software is spread by intrusive advertisements as well. Some of these ads can execute scripts to perform stealthy downloads/installations upon being clicked.
How to avoid installation of adware?
We strongly advise researching software and downloading it only from official/trustworthy channels. Installation processes must be treated with caution, e.g., by reading terms, inspecting available options, using the "Custom/Advanced" settings, and opting out of all supplementary apps, extensions, features, etc.
Another recommendation is to be careful while browsing since fraudulent and malicious online content usually appears legitimate. For example, while intrusive advertisements may look ordinary and innocuous – they redirect to highly questionable websites (e.g., scam-promoting, gambling, adult dating, pornography, etc.).
In case of continuous encounters with adverts and/or redirects of this kind, inspect the device and immediately remove all dubious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins. If your computer is already infected with LogicalProduct, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate this adware.

Adware developers profit mainly through affiliate programs by endorsing various websites, applications, browser extensions, products, services, etc.
Will Combo Cleaner remove LogicalProduct adware?
Yes, Combo Cleaner can scan computers and eliminate all adware-type applications that are installed. Note that manual removal (performed without the aid of security programs) might not be a perfect solution. In some cases, file leftovers remain hidden within the system after the advertising-supported software has been manically removed. The remaining components might continue to run and cause issues. Therefore, it is essential to eliminate adware and other unwanted software thoroughly.
