Do not use the untrusted ytbmp3.club website
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is the ytbmp3[.]club site?
ytbmp3[.]club is an untrusted website, which operates as a YouTube video converter. It offers the service of converting YouTube videos (via links) into MP3 files, which users can then download. As well as infringing copyright law, this web page also uses rogue advertising networks for monetization.
Therefore, when it is accessed or users interact with the content presented, they are redirected to dubious and possibly malicious sites.
When websites that use rogue advertising networks are entered, they can force-open other dubious pages.
Alternatively, the redirects can be caused by clicking on content (e.g. advertisements, buttons, etc.) displayed in the sites - ytbmp3[.]club is no exception to this and visitors to this web page are redirected to various sale-based/promotional, rogue, compromised, deceptive/scam and malicious sites.
Amongst the websites ytbmp3[.]club has been observed redirecting to are promotional/download pages of Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs) and ones that host intrusive ads. Once an advertisement of this type is clicked, it can redirect to dangerous web pages and, in some cases, even stealthily download/install software (e.g. PUAs).
These unwanted apps may seem legitimate and offer a wide variety of "useful" features, which are usually nonoperational, however, more importantly, these applications can have additional, undisclosed capabilities. Some PUAs can force-open untrusted and malicious websites.
Adware-types deliver intrusive ads, which possess the aforementioned characteristics (i.e. they diminish the browsing experience, cause redirects, make stealthy installations). Browser hijackers modify browser settings and limit/deny access to them to promote fake search engines.
These search engines are rarely able to provide unique results, and so they redirect to Yahoo, Bing, Google and other legitimate search engines. Furthermore, most PUAs (regardless of type) monitor users' browsing activity. Data of interest includes browsing and search engine histories, IP addresses, geolocations and other personally identifiable information.
This sensitive information is then shared with and/or sold to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals), likewise intent on misusing it for financial gain. To summarize, the presence of unwanted software on devices can result in system infections, serious privacy issues, financial loss and even identity theft.
To protect device and user safety, all suspect applications and browser extensions/plug-ins must be removed immediately upon detection.

youtubetomp3.sc, y2mate.guru, ytdownload.net, 320youtube.com and youtubetomp3music.com are some examples of sites, practically identical to ytbmp3[.]club, however, use of rogue advertising networks for monetization is not exclusive to YouTube converters.
The internet is rife with web pages that generate revenue by using this technique. Therefore, you are strongly advised against visiting or using such websites. Should a browser be automatically force-opening dubious web pages, it is likely to be caused by PUAs installed on the device.
How did adware install on my computer?
PUAs are often downloaded/installed together with other products. This deceptive marketing technique of pre-packing regular software with unwanted or malicious additions is called "bundling".
By rushing through download/installation of software (e.g. ignoring terms, skipping steps and sections, using "Quick/Express" settings, etc.) many users risk unintentionally allowing bundled content into their devices. Intrusive advertisements proliferate PUAs as well.
When clicked, the ads can execute scripts to download/install these applications without users' permission. Some PUAs have "official" download web pages from which they can be downloaded.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
You are advised to research all software before download/installation. Use only official and verified download channels. Unofficial and free file-hosting websites, Peer-to-Peer sharing networks (BitTorrent, Gnutella, eMule), and other third party downloaders commonly offer harmful and bundled content, and are therefore untrusted and should be avoided.
When downloading/installing, read the terms, study all possible options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings and opt-out of additional apps, tools, features, and so on. Intrusive advertisements typically seem legitimate, however, they can redirect to dubious and malicious sites (e.g. gambling, pornography, adult-dating, and many others).
If you encounter ads or redirects of this kind, inspect the system and remove all dubious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins immediately. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
