Easy Forms Now Browser Hijacker
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is Easy Forms Now?
Easy Forms Now is a browser-hijacking application that supposedly provides quick access to various "printable forms". On initial inspection, Easy Forms Now may seem legitimate and useful, however, this app is categorized as a potentially unwanted application (PUA) and a browser hijacker.
This PUA usually infiltrates computers without users' consent and promotes two fake search engines: search.heasyformsnow.com and search.heasyformsnow.net
Easy Forms Now targets the most popular browsers - Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. After successful infiltration, it assigns the browser new tab URL, default search engine, and homepage options to search.heasyformsnow.com or search.heasyformsnow.net (the assigned URL depends on the browser hijacker variant).
These changes may seem insignificant, however, users are unable to revert them. Research shows that Easy Forms Now reassigns browser settings when attempts are made to change them. Ultimately users are encouraged to visit search.heasyformsnow.com or search.heasyformsnow.net when they open a new browser tab or search via the URL bar.
Redirects of this type significantly diminish the browsing experience. Note that search.heasyformsnow.com and search.heasyformsnow.net are useless search engines. Once a search query is entered, these sites redirect to search.yahoo.com and users simply end up searching the web via Yahoo (a legitimate search engine).
Note that search.heasyformsnow.com and search.heasyformsnow.net do not generate any unique results and thus deliver no real value for regular users. Information tracking is also an issue. Easy Forms Now and its promoted fake search engines gather information relating to browsing activity.
These apps/websites usually gather IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, etc. Collected data is likely to contain personal details that developers share with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who generate revenue by misusing private information.
Thus, information tracking can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. We strongly recommend that you uninstall the Easy Forms Now browser hijacker and never return to these sites again.

There are dozens of browser-hijacking applications that share similarities with Easy Forms Now (e.g., Free Streamz, Fast Weather App, and Easy Speed Test App). By offering many "useful features", apps such as Easy Forms Now attempt to give the impression of legitimacy, however, browser hijackers typically have just one purpose: to generate revenue for the developers.
Regular users receive no real value. Browser-hijacking apps merely cause unwanted redirects (promote rogue websites, most of which are fake Internet search engines) and gather information. These apps diminish the browsing experience and pose a significant threat to your privacy.
How did Easy Forms Now install on my computer?
Easy Forms Now is free for anyone to download at its official website, however, as mentioned above, browser-hijacking applications usually infiltrate systems without permission. Developers proliferate them using intrusive advertisements (delivered by other rogue applications and dubious sites) and a deceptive marketing method called "bundling".
Intrusive advertisements redirect users to malicious websites and run scripts designed to download/install unwanted applications. "Bundling", on the other hand, is stealth installation of third party applications together with regular software.
Developers hide "bundled" apps behind "Custom/Advanced" settings (or other sections) of third party applications together with regular software. Furthermore, many users often click advertisements and rush download/installation processes by skipping steps, thereby exposing their systems to risk of various infections and compromising their privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To prevent system infiltration by browser-hijacking apps, be very cautious when browsing the Internet and downloading/installing software. You should carefully analyze each step of the download/installation processes using the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings. Opt-out of additionally-included programs and cancel offers to download/install them.
You are advised to download apps from official sources only, using direct download links. Third party downloaders/installers are monetized using the "bundling" method, and thus such tools should never be used. Bear in mind that intrusive advertisements usually seem legitimate, since developers invest many resources into intrusive ad design.
In fact, they often redirect to dubious websites, such as gambling, adult dating, pornography, and similar. As mentioned above, intrusive advertisements are often delivered by adware-type applications and, therefore, if you encounter them frequently, uninstall all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins.
The key to computer safety is caution. If your computer is already infected with Easy Forms Now, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate this browser hijacker.
