Ero-advertising.com POP-UP Redirect
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is ero-advertising.com?
There are countless rogue websites available on the Internet including channel1vids.com, globaladmedia.net, mysuperapps.online, and many more. ero-advertising.com is just another rogue website that redirects users to porn-related, untrustworthy websites.
Most users arrive at it unintentionally - potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) force redirects to it. As a rule, users install PUAs inadvertently, cause redirects, collect data, and deliver intrusive advertisements.
When a potentially unwanted application is installed, it forces browsers to randomly open a new tab or window and triggers a redirect to ero-advertising.com, which then causes even more (about two or three) redirects to porn-related and untrustworthy websites. There is a good chance that one of these websites will be malicious and infiltrate computers with high-risk infections.
Another negative aspect of PUAs is that they deliver intrusive ads, such as coupons, banners, surveys, pop-ups etc. These can be very annoying, since they are usually displayed via tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site and conceal underlying content.
Clicking them often redirects users to untrustworthy and/or potentially malicious websites or runs scripts designed to download and install other PUAs. One more downside is the information tracking aspect: most PUAs gather IP addresses, geo-locations, keystrokes, URLs of visited websites, search queries, and other data which might include personal or sensitive information.
Later, the collected data is shared with third parties (potentially cyber criminals) who often misuse it to generate revenue. These actions might cause various privacy/browsing safety issues or far more serious problems such as identity theft. We recommend that you uninstall all PUAs immediately.

Most potentially unwanted applications are identical and share the same purposes: to generate revenue by delivering intrusive ads, gather data, and redirect users to unwanted (in this case, porn-related) websites. Few PUAs deliver the functionality promised (useful features) or give any real value for regular users.
How did adware install on my computer?
Potentially unwanted applications can be downloaded from their official websites, however, they are usually installed without users' knowledge - they are installed through intrusive ads or together with regular third party software. Software developers often use the so-called "bundling" method to trick users into installing potentially unwanted applications.
Bundling is a deceptive marketing method that allows PUAs to be installed together with other regular software. Software developers do not disclose information about these installations properly and hide bundled software in "Custom", "Advanced", and other similar settings/options of the installation processes.
Users commonly install software inadvertently without checking any of the available installation options (or they click intrusive ads) - this is how most PUAs are installed.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Be careful when installing software, especially if it is free (or ad-supportive). Do not skip installation steps without first checking included checkboxes or "Custom"/"Advanced" options/settings. Deselect unwanted extra software/applications and only then finish the installation. Do not download software from untrustworthy websites, or using third party downloaders or torrents.
Use only direct links and trustworthy, official sources. Avoid clicking intrusive ads - these may seem legitimate, but often redirect users to untrustworthy websites such as gambling, pornography, adult dating, etc. If you encounter these ads or are redirected to unwanted websites, check for unwanted/unknown applications (extensions, plug-ins, and add-ons) installed on your browsers.
Remove suspicious or unknown entries immediately. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
