Channel1vids.com POP-UP Redirect
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is channel1vids.com?
The number of rogue websites is growing daily - channel1vids.com is one of many that include mysuperapps.online, newstarads.com, and redirectal.com.
These sites redirect visitors to other untrustworthy and potentially malicious websites. Users are often redirected unwillingly to channel1vids.com by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) that are installed inadvertently without users' knowledge. PUAs are designed to cause unwanted redirects, collect data, and deliver ads.
When a potentially unwanted application installed, it forces browsers randomly open new tabs/windows and redirects users to channel1vids.com, which then causes additional (about 2-3) redirects to other untrustworthy sites that might contain malicious content and cause high-risk infections.
Furthermore, PUAs are annoying, since they display intrusive ads (coupons, banners, surveys, pop-ups, etc.) using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site and conceal underlying content. Furthermore, when ads delivered by PUAs are clicked, they redirect to untrustworthy websites or even execute scripts that download and install other PUAs.
These unwanted apps also collect data (including IP addresses, geo-locations, keystrokes, search queries, URLs of visited websites, etc.) and share it with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse it to generate revenue.
Personal or sensitive details might also be included, and thus users might start experiencing privacy/browsing safety problems or even encounter identity theft. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you uninstall all PUAs that are present on your computer immediately.

Most potentially unwanted applications are designed only to generate revenue for the developers (and various third parties) by recording and sharing data, delivering advertisements, and causing unwanted redirects.
Few deliver the functionality promised or give any other real value for users who have installed them. Frequently, PUAs cause browsing safety or privacy-related problems.
How did adware install on my computer?
Developers offer download of potentially unwanted applications from their official websites, however, most are installed through intrusive advertisements or a deceptive marketing method called "bundling". Bundling is stealth installation of potentially unwanted applications with some regular third party software that users download from the Internet.
As a rule, PUAs can be found hidden in "Advanced"/"Custom and other similar settings/options of the installation processes.
In these cases, information regarding installation of PUAs is not properly disclosed. Careless behaviour (such as skipping installation steps) usually causes inadvertent installation of potentially unwanted applications or other problems relating to browsing safety and privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The key to safety is caution. Avoid downloading software (especially if it is free) from untrustworthy sources, using third party downloaders, torrents, or other similar sources. Use official (and trustworthy) websites and direct links only. Do not skip software installation steps - check "Advanced", "Custom", "Manual" and other similar options or settings of the installation dialogs.
Opt-out of/deselect unwanted software (such as PUAs) and only then finish the installation. Bear in mind that intrusive ads may seem legitimate, but are often rogue. If you encounter ads that redirect you to dubious websites (gambling, pornography, adult dating, or similar), check your browser for unwanted extensions, add-ons, and plug-ins.
Uninstall them immediately. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
