Studientede.club POP-UP Redirect
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is studientede.club?
studientede.club is a rogue website similar or identical to others of this type, including secassingly.club, livestream123.info, coostero.com, and so on.
It is designed to redirect visitors to various other untrustworthy sites. Generally, users visit studientede.club inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) that are installed inadvertently. Most PUAs also deliver intrusive advertisements and record user-system information.
Once installed, most potentially unwanted applications force browsers to open new tabs/windows and redirect users to studientede.club. From here, they are redirected to even more (about 2-3) sites that are likely to contain malicious content and might cause computer infections.
PUAs also tend to deliver intrusive ads (coupons, banners, surveys, pop-ups, etc.) that are displayed via tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site and conceal underlying content. If clicked, these ads redirect users to untrustworthy websites. Some run scripts that download and install potentially unwanted applications.
Furthermore, most PUAs gather data (such as IP addresses, keystrokes, geo-locations, search queries, visited websites, etc.), share it with third parties (cyber criminals), and use it to generate revenue. Some of the shared data might contain personally identifiable or other sensitive information.
Therefore, users could experience various privacy issues or even identity theft. Some potentially unwanted applications are known to run background tasks/processes, causing a significant reduction in computer performance. To avoid any of these issues, we recommend that you uninstall all PUAs immediately.

There are many potentially unwanted applications available that claim to be legitimate, and often trick users into downloading them by offering "useful" tools or features. In fact, most deliver none of the functionality promised or any other value for their users.
On the contrary, they are used only to generate revenue, and cause privacy/browsing safety issues, computer infections, and other problems.
How did adware install on my computer?
Potentially unwanted applications can be downloaded from their official websites, however, users commonly install them through intrusive ads (mentioned above) or using a deceptive marketing method called "bundling". Bundling is stealth installation of third party applications/programs (in this case, potentially unwanted applications) with regular software.
Software developers do not disclose these installations properly and hide bundled applications in "Custom", "Advanced" (and other similar settings) of the installation processes. If you skipped installation steps without checking the settings/options when installing software or clicked on an intrusive ad, then it is likely that a potentially unwanted application was installed.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Download software from official sources using direct links only. Do not use third party software downloaders (or installers) to download software - these are usually monetized by promoting potentially unwanted applications or other software.
Install software with care - do not skip installation steps and analyze each installation step by checking all available settings/options (such as "Custom", "Advanced", and so on). Bear in mind that most advertisements of this type often seem legitimate, however, clicking them can lead to redirects to adult dating, gambling, pornography, or other dubious sites.
If you clicked an ad and were redirected to a suspicious website, close the site immediately and check for any unwanted installations (add-ons, extensions, and plug-ins on your browser, or programs on your computer). If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
