Tleads.pro POP-UP Redirect
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is tleads.pro?
tleads.pro is one of hundreds of similar rogue websites on the Internet, including mediawhirl.net, invictioner.club, digitalmerkat.com, etc.
The site is designed to redirect users to other untrustworthy websites and most users do not visit it intentionally - they are redirected to tleads.pro by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) that stealthily infiltrate systems. Furthermore, PUAs deliver intrusive ads, misuse system resources, and gather various data.
When installed, most potentially unwanted applications open new browser windows/tabs and redirect users to rogue websites (in this case, tleads.pro). From here, they are redirected to even more (typically 2-3) sites that are known to be untrustworthy or potentially malicious and might infect computers with high-risk computer infections.
In addition, most PUAs deliver intrusive advertisements (such as surveys, banners, coupons, and so on) that are displayed using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site and conceal underlying content.
These ads are distracting and, if clicked, also redirect users to untrustworthy websites, or run scripts that download and install potentially unwanted applications or malicious software.
Furthermore, most PUAs are devised to collect user-system information such as IP (Internet Protocol) addresses, search queries, visited websites, keystrokes, geo-locations, and other data that might include personally identifiable or sensitive details. The data is later shared with third parties (potentially cyber criminals) and used to generate revenue.
When this data is sold/shared, users could start experiencing various privacy issues or even become victims of identity theft. Some PUAs run background tasks (such as cryptocurrency mining), thereby affecting computer performance. You should remove all PUAs immediately.

Typically, developers promote potentially unwanted applications by encouraging users to try out "useful" features. In fact, few PUAs deliver the features promised (or give any other value). Most potentially unwanted applications generate revenue by delivering intrusive advertisements, using computer resources, and triggering unwanted (potentially harmful) redirects.
How did adware install on my computer?
Potentially unwanted applications of this type can often be downloaded from official sites, however, they are commonly downloaded and installed through clicked intrusive advertisements or when installing other software that was downloaded from the Internet. Software developers use the "bundling" method to trick users into installing PUAs.
Bundling is a deceptive marketing method used to stealthily install (or download) potentially unwanted applications together with other regular software. PUAs are typically hidden in "Advanced", "Custom", and other similar settings/options of the installation dialog windows.
These installations of potentially unwanted applications are not properly disclosed. Skipping installation steps when installing software (especially free software) can also lead to installation of potentially unwanted applications.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The key to safety is caution. Download and install software, and browse the web with care. Download software from official and trustworthy websites/sources, and use direct links. Avoid using third party downloaders/installers and torrents. Do not skip installation steps without first checking the "Advanced", "Custom", and other options/settings of the installation processes.
Make sure that you deselect additional software/offers, and only then proceed to the next step or finish the installation. Be careful if intrusive ads appear when browsing the web - once clicked, some will redirect to dubious/untrustworthy websites (for example: gambling, pornography, adult dating, etc.).
If you encounter these redirects, close the website immediately and check your browser for unwanted extensions, add-ons, and plug-ins and remove (uninstall) them immediately. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
