What is hp.myway.com?

ConvertersNow is a deceptive application developed by Mindspark Interactive Network (also known as IAC Applications). This program claims to provide functionality allowing conversion of PDF files to various other formats.

This functionality may seem legitimate and useful, however, this potentially unwanted program (PUP) often infiltrates systems without permission. Furthermore, ConvertersNow is categorized as a browser hijacker - a form of unwanted software that modifies Internet browser settings without users’ permission.

Immediately after infiltration, ConvertersNow hijacks Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, assigning the new tab URL, default search engine, and homepage settings to hp.myway.com. These changes may seem insignificant, however, from this point on, users are unable to revert them.

ConvertersNow is identical to MyEasyLotto, BetterCareerSearch, GifPalooza, AstrologySearcher, and dozens of other browser hijackers developed by the same company. Although these apps offer different functionality, they have identical behavior. Claims to provide 'useful features' are merely attempts to trick users to install.

In fact, ConvertersNow and other browser-hijacking apps are designed only to generate revenue for the developers. Most deliver no real value for regular users (only a small percentage provide the features promised).

Change your default Internet search engine:

To change your default search engine in Microsoft Edge: Click the Edge menu icon  (at the top right corner of Microsoft Edge), select "Privacy and services", scroll to bottom of the page and select "Address bar". In the "Search engines used in address bar" section look for the name of the unwanted Internet search engine, when located click the "Disable" button near it. Optional method:
