What is thisclickisforyou.com?
Identical to adprohub.com, consertist.com, deloton.com, adexchangerate.com, and many others, thisclickisforyou.com is a malicious website designed to redirect to various other suspicious sites. Users often visit thisclickisforyou.com inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) that infiltrate systems without permission.
As well as causing redirects, potentially unwanted programs generate malicious ads, run unwanted processes, and gather various data.
Research shows that potentially unwanted programs randomly open new browser tabs/windows and redirect to thisclickisforyou.com. A number (usually 2 or 3) of further redirects to other dubious websites then follow. There is a high probability that users will be forced to visit a site containing malicious content.
Therefore, redirects to thisclickisforyou.com can result in high-risk computer infections. In addition, potentially unwanted programs deliver various 'malvertising' ads (such as, banners, pop-ups, coupons, etc.) To achieve this, developers employ various tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site.
The displayed ads thus often conceal underlying content, thereby significantly diminishing the Internet browsing experience. Furthermore, some of these malicious ads might redirect to malicious websites and/or execute scripts that download and install malware/PUPs. Therefore, them can result in high-risk computer infections.
Potentially unwanted programs also mine cryptocurrency or run other unwanted background processes. By misusing resources without consent, PUPs significantly diminish overall system performance.
Furthermore, potentially unwanted programs gather various information (mostly relating to web browsing habits) that might contain personal details. Developers sell this information to third parties. For these reasons, potentially unwanted programs must be uninstalled immediately.

There are hundreds of potentially unwanted programs, all of which are virtually identical. By offering various "useful features" (e.g., file conversion, download performance increase, system's optimization, etc.), PUPs attempt to give the impression of legitimacy.
These programs are designed only to generate revenue for the developers and only a small percentage provide the features promised - most deliver no real value for regular users.
Rather than (or, in some cases, together with) providing the functionality promised, potentially unwanted programs cause redirects, deliver ads, gather information, and misuse system resources, thereby posing threat to your privacy and Internet browsing safety.
How did adware install on my computer?
Some potentially unwanted programs are free for anyone to download on their official websites. In most cases, however, these programs are distributed using malicious ads and a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" - stealth installation of potentially unwanted programs together with regular (mostly free) software.
Developers are aware that many users rush the download/installation processes and skip steps - they hide "bundled" programs within the "Custom/Advanced" settings or other sections of the download/installation processes.
Therefore, skipping download/installation steps and clicking various advertisements often leads to inadvertent installation of potentially unwanted programs. This exposes systems to risk of various infections and compromises users' privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The main reasons for computer infections are poor knowledge and careless behavior. The key to safety is caution. Therefore, be very careful during the download/installation processes, and when browsing the Internet. Carefully analyze each window of the download/installation processes (especially the "Custom/Advanced" settings) to cancel all additionally-included programs.
Third party download/installation tools are monetized by promoting malicious apps (the "bundling" method). These tools should never be used. Furthermore, bear in mind that many malicious ads appear genuine, however, these ads are distinguishable for their redirects - most lead to dubious websites such as, for example, surveys, gambling, adult dating, etc.
Malicious ads are often delivered by potentially unwanted adware-type programs. Therefore, if you encounter such ads, uninstall all suspicious apps/browser plug-ins.
