Ads by e-buyer

What is Ads by e-buyer?
"Ads by e-buyer" advertisements are displayed by a number of potentially unwanted adware-type programs (PUPs) that are distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called "bundling". After successful system infiltration, adware generates various intrusive online advertisements and tracks users' Internet browsing activity.
Adware-type applications use a 'virtual layer' to generate pop-up, coupon, banner, search, and various other advertisement types. The virtual layer enables placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, displayed ads often conceal underlying content of visited websites, thereby significantly diminishing users' Internet browsing experience.
In addition, some lead to malicious websites that often contain infectious content. Therefore, clicking them risks further high-risk adware or malware infections.
Furthermore, potentially unwanted programs continually monitor users' Internet browsing activity by gathering IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other similar data types that might contain private details.
The data is shared with third parties (usually, cyber criminals) who often misuse private information to generate revenue, thus causing serious privacy issues. Therefore, all potentially unwanted programs should be uninstalled immediately.
Internet is full of adware-type applications and all are virtually identical. Examples include Best Results, MySafeSavings, and OnlineApp. Most adware-type apps offer a number of 'useful features' that will supposedly improve the Internet browsing experience, however, these claims are merely attempts to trick users to install.
Research shows that adware is often useless for regular users. These applications simply generate revenue for the developers. Rather than enabling any of the functions promised, adware-type apps collect personally identifiable information, deliver intrusive online advertisements, and often cause unwanted browser redirects.
How did Ads by e-buyer install on my computer?
PUPs are usually distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called "bundling" - stealth installation of third party software with regular software/apps. Developers know that many users do not pay enough attention when downloading and installing software - they rush and skip most/all steps.
Thus, developers intentionally conceal bundled programs within the "Custom/Advanced" settings. By skipping this section, users expose their systems to risk of various infections. Developers' revenue is dependent on the number of the distributed PUPs and, therefore, they never properly disclose these installation.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To prevent this situation, be cautious during the download/installation processes. Select the "Custom/Advanced" settings and closely observe the entire procedure. Furthermore, cancel all additionally-included programs and decline all offers to download/install them. The key to computer safety is caution.
