ArcadeLoot Ads

What is ArcadeLoot?
Identical to DynamiteArcade, Froovr, Gamesopolis and dozens of other apps, ArcadeLoot is a deceptive program that falsely claims to allow users to play various addictive arcade games.
On initial inspection, ArcadeLoot may seem legitimate and useful, however, it is classed as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and adware. There are three main reasons for these negative associations - stealth installation without users' consent, tracking of web browsing activity, and display of intrusive online advertisements.
After system infiltration, ArcadeLoot records Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (to determine geographic location), website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries entered into search engines, and other similar information.
This data may seem insignificant, however, it will contain personally identifiable details that the developers of ArcadeLoot share with third parties (and probably misused to generate revenue). Thus, the presence of an information-tracking app on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
Furthermore, ArcadeLoot employs a 'virtual layer' to generate pop-up, banner, coupon, and other similar advertisements, none of which originate from users' visited websites. This often conceals underlying content, significantly diminishing the web browsing experience.
In addition, these displayed ads often lead to bogus sites containing infectious content. Thus, clicking them is risky and can lead to further high-risk adware or malware infections. For these reasons, you are strongly advised to uninstall ArcadeLoot adware immediately.
Research shows that many adware-type apps have very similar behavior. By falsely claiming to enhance the web browsing experience in certain ways, apps such as ArcadeLoot often trick users into believing that they are legitimate. In fact, the only purpose of adware-type applications is to generate revenue for the developers.
Most provide no real value for regular users. ArcadeLoot, and other similar applications, simply cause unwanted browser redirects, gather personally identifiable information, and deliver intrusive online advertisements.
How did ArcadeLoot install on my computer?
ArcadeLoot has an official download website, however, many users install this app inadvertently due to deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' - stealth installation of potentially unwanted programs with regular software. Developers know that many users do not express enough caution during the download/installation processes.
Therefore, PUPs such as ArcadeLoot are intentionally hidden within the 'Custom/Advanced' settings of these processes. By skipping this section, users expose their systems to risk of various infections and threaten their privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Installation of PUPs can be prevented by taking two simple steps. Firstly, never rush when downloading and installing software. Select the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings and observe each step. Secondly, cancel all additionally-included programs and decline all offers to download/install them.
