What is Search Protect by Client Connect Ltd?

Client Connect Ltd is responsible for developing a browser hijacker that redirects to the hxxp://www.trovi.com website. This browser hijacker infiltrates Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) via free software downloads.

Developers of this browser settings-changing adware employ a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' and, therefore, many computer users install the plug-in without their consent.

The Client Connect Ltd browser hijacker infiltrates computers through freeware downloads (for example, when installing "Manuals Search" or "Install Converter" applications) or when installing various community toolbars (mostly downloaded from the hxxp://ourtoolbar.com website).

After successful infiltration, this browser hijacker assigns the homepage and default search engine browser settings to hxxp://www.trovi.com. At time of research, this site redirected users to Bing (a legitimate Internet search engine), however, developers of this deceptive browser plug-in can redirect hxxp://www.trovi.com to malicious websites at any time.

Radamant is a malicious application that stealthily infiltrates the system and encrypts most stored files. Once encryption is successful, users are presented with a message stating that they must pay a ransom in exchange for a private key, which is used to decrypt files affected by Radamant.

MovieDea is presented as a legitimate browser extension allowing users to find information about various movies and TV series. This browser add-on may appear to be legitimate and useful, however, MovieDea is categorized as adware.

Using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling', this potentially unwanted program (PUP) stealthily installs on computers together with other software and without users' consent.

After successful installation on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, MovieDea generates various intrusive online advertisements such as banners, pop-ups, in-text, and other similar ads. Be aware that advertisements generated by this rogue application (and other similar applications) usually leads to dubious websites and your computer may become infected.

Thanks to its powerful range of tools, PC Mechanic thoroughly fixes Windows registry errors and issues; reduces clutter on your hard disk; and identifies all startup programs that could be slowing down your PC boot time." 

On initial inspection, this functionality may seem legitimate and useful, however, be aware that PC Mechanic often installs without users' permission. For this reason, it is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP).

What is Yula?

Developed by SuperWeb LLC, the Yula rogue browser extension claims to improve the quality of users' Internet browsing experience by displaying website trust ratings, websites containing related content, comparison shopping, coupons, and adding other useful functionality.

Although Yula may seem a legitimate add-on, it is categorized as a potentially unwanted application or adware. Yula uses a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional applications together with the chosen software) to install on Internet browsers without users' permission.

After successful infiltration on Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome, Yula monitors users' Internet browsing activity by recording information such as IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries entered, and other similar hardware and software information.
