Monarimo Ads

What is Monarimo?
Developed by SuperWeb LLC, Monarimo is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) that supposedly improves the web browsing experience by enabling comparison shopping, providing coupons, and providing notifications of special deals/discounts available on various e-shops - "We're passionate about improving web by providing the best tools to enhance the browsing experience, from searching the web to comparing online deals to find the best prices.
We've combined all of our great ideas into the Monarimo product suite, a FREE set of tools that work to make your browsing experience... better!" This functionality may seem legitimate, however, this application is classed as adware. One of the main reasons for this negative association is stealth installation - Monarimo often infiltrates systems without users’ permission.
Furthermore, this bogus program generates intrusive online advertisements and continually gathers information regarding web browsing activity.
Once infiltrated, Monarimo generates pop-up, banner, search, interstitial, transitional, full-page, coupon, price comparison, and other similar advertisements. None originate from the visited websites and conceal underlying content. In addition, these displayed advertisements often lead to malicious websites - clicking them risks further adware or malware infections.
Another downside of Monarimo is data tracking. Monarimo continually monitors users' web browsing activity, recording unique identifier numbers, IP addresses, URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries entered into search engines, and other similar information that might be personally identifiable.
In addition, SuperWeb LLC shares this recorded data with cooperating third party companies who misuse private details to generate revenue. Therefore, the presence of an information-tracking app on your system can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. For these reasons, you should uninstall Monarimo adware immediately.
Monarimo Privacy Policy statement regarding data collection:
We only share or sell your non-public personal information with non-affiliated third parties when we believe doing so is permitted by you or authorized by this Privacy Policy. In addition, the Company may share your personal information with our parent, subsidiary or affiliate companies without restriction.
SuperWeb LLC has released hundreds of PUPs identical to Monarimo including, for example, Steel Cut, Newer Version, Oasis Space, Sale Planet, and Web Amplified.
All falsely claim to enhance the web browsing experience, however, rather than providing any of the functions promised, apps developed by SuperWeb LLC continually gather personal data and deliver intrusive online advertisements. Their purpose is to generate revenue for the developers - Monarimo, and other identical apps, are useless to regular users.
How did Monarimo install on my computer?
Monarimo has an official download website, however, many users install this application inadvertently. SuperWeb LLC employ a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' - stealth installation of PUPs with regular (usually legitimate) software. Many users rush the download/installation processes.
For this reason, bundled software is mostly hidden within the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' section. By skipping these stages, users expose their systems to risk of various infections. In addition, they put their privacy at risk.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The key to computer safety is caution. Never rush the download or installation processes. Select the 'Custom/Advanced' settings, follow each step, and opt-out of all additionally-included apps. Bundled software is mostly rogue and, thus, should never be installed.
