Ads by Newer Version

What is Newer Version?
Developed by SuperWeb LLC, Newer Version is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) claiming to improve the Internet browsing experience by enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and other similar features.
On initial inspection, some users may find this browser add-on legitimate and useful, however, Newer Version is classed as adware since it employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional programs together with the chosen software) to install on Internet browsers without users' consent.
After infiltration on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, Newer Version generates various intrusive online advertisements including search, interstitial, transitional, pop-up, banner, and full-page ads. Clicking advertisements generated by Newer Version exposes your computer to risk of infection, since these ads often redirect to bogus websites containing infectious content.
In addition, Newer Version continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity, collecting various information that may be personally identifiable. For example, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (to determine geographic locations), unique identifier numbers, websites visited, search queries, pages viewed, and so on.
Be aware that tracking of personally identifiable information may lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. Newer Version is not the only application developed by SuperWeb LLC. There are hundreds of potentially unwanted applications identical to Newer Version including, for example, Package Return, Record Page, and RoamingRate.
None provide any significant value for the user. Newer Version, and other browser add-ons developed by this company, are designed to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online ads and sharing collected data with third parties. Therefore, you are strongly advised to uninstall Newer Version from your Internet browsers immediately.
Close examination of Newer Version reveals that it is often distributed using small download programs (also called 'installers', 'download managers', 'download clients', etc.) on various freeware download websites such as, download.com, soft32.com, softonic.com, and many others.
Download programs are employed to monetize these websites' traffic and free services by offering installation of third party applications together with the chosen software. In some cases, these additional programs are simply hidden within the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options.
Although the developers state that their offered apps are 'legitimate and virus-free', careless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections. To avoid this situation, closely inspect each step when installing free software and click 'Decline' if installation of additional programs is offered.
Furthermore, downloaded programs should be installed using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' options - this will reveal any concealed apps listed for installation and allow you to decline them. If you have installed Newer Version, the following removal guide will help you to eliminate this adware from your system.
